When the seedlings of seeds grow up, they will be used as rootstocks in about one to two years. When the seedlings are about to germinate but not germinate in early spring, they should be cut from the root of the ground about 15 to 20 cm, and the cut should be smooth. At 1/3 of the tree diameter, use a sterilized sharp knife to slightly cut an incision about 5 cm vertically to the inside of the tree. One-year-old robust branches of Huyou discovered in advance are about 15 cm long (there must be more than two or three bud eyes on them) as scions, the lower end of which is cut into a wedge shape and pressed into the incision of the rootstock, and at least one side of the cambium of the scion matches the cambium of the rootstock. Tie it tightly with cloth tape or plastic tape and seal it with mud. Be careful not to let the incision get wet when watering. After about a month, if the scion germinates, the grafting is successful.
