According to their pollination relationship and flower pattern, figs can be divided into four categories. Figs are cultivated in South China and East China. The main varieties are:
Purple species
Unknown origin, distributed in South China and East China. This tree has the golden mean. The weight of a single fruit is 30 ~ 50g, round or oblate, deep purple; The flesh is yellow and white, the core is yellow and brown, and the taste is sweet. High and stable yield. Southeast Fujian ripens in early July, and the harvest period can last until the first half of September. There are patches of cultivated land in the suburbs of Fuzhou.
Branrick
Originally from France. The fruit is oval and yellow-brown; The flesh is reddish brown, and the single fruit weighs 30 ~ 150g. Sweet and high yield. Storage and transportation resistance, salt tolerance, suitable for beach culture. Xia Guo ripens in the middle and late July, and autumn fruit ripens from the middle of August to the middle of 10. It is a popular variety in East China and can be introduced and planted in South China.
Mai yi si Tao fen
Originally from the United States, it was introduced from Japan in recent years. The fruit is lavender to reddish brown, oval, and the weight of a single fruit is 80 ~ 1 10g. High yield. Xia Guo is harvested in mid-July, and autumn fruits are harvested from late August to late June 10. Jiangsu is resistant to high temperature and high humidity, and South China can be introduced for trial planting.
2. Cultivation techniques
Cutting propagation is generally used. Seedlings can be cultivated in the nursery or planted directly in the garden. Cutting with branches that grew vigorously in the previous year, the cutting length is 30 ~ 40 cm. Cuttings are most likely to survive when the buds swell in spring but are not germinated, and can also be carried out when the growth stops in autumn. Pay attention to moisturizing and shading when cutting. Figs should be fertilized before germination in February-March, young fruits appear in May-June, and fertilized after fruit picking in September. Bo Tu should be painted frequently. Farmhouse manure needs to be decomposed to prevent root damage. When the fruits are ripe in summer and autumn, they should be watered frequently to prevent drought and keep the soil moist. Figs have cup-shaped and trunk-shaped shapes. The former has the advantages of low dryness, quick forming, early fruiting and convenient management, but it has short life and low output. The trunk is layered, the crown is high, the structure is firm, the yield is high, and the service life is long, but the fruit must be upright. Pruning is mostly in spring, and each fruiting mother branch can produce 4-5 fruiting branches, and 2-3 strong branches can be left, thinning out weak branches, diseased dead branches and cadres. Removing the leaves that don't bear fruit at the base during the fruiting process of branches, and removing the adjacent leaves at the same time when picking fruits one after another in the future, so as to keep the canopy ventilated and transparent, which is beneficial to the fruit development and maturity. As soon as the milk fades and discolors, fresh figs are picked and packaged into small boxes for sale. The main pests of fig are Apriona germari and leaf roller moth, and the control method is the same as other fruit trees.
