Is Jiangbei the south or the north?

There are two historical views on the geographical dividing line that distinguishes southern and northern China: 1. The Qinling Mountains and the Huaihe River are used as boundaries to divide north and south. This is because the Huaihe River is the southernmost river in China that freezes in winter. 2. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many scholars advocated using the Yangtze River as the dividing line between the south and the north. Both statements have their own basis. The former focuses on physical geographical features, while the latter focuses on human geographical factors. No matter which method is used to divide north and south, there are some provinces and cities that cross the border. For example, part of Anhui is north of the Huaihe River and part is south of the Huaihe River. Most of Hubei is north of the Yangtze River, and part of it is south of the Yangtze River. According to the first dividing method, Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Hebei, Gansu, Ningxia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang belong to the north; Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing City, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Tibet, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR belong to the south.
