Pot soil: Choosing the right pot soil is the key to raise the pouch peony. Potted plants and pouched peonies should choose pots with large body and good air permeability. If you choose a plastic basin or a porcelain basin, you can pad some mixed gravel, tiles or charcoal briquettes at the bottom of the basin to increase air permeability and drainage. Paeonia lactiflora likes potted soil with rich humus. We can mix humus soil with garden soil, mix humus soil, sandy soil and cake fat soil at the ratio of 7:2 ~ 1, and then sterilize at high temperature to make nutrient soil suitable for bagging peony.
Light and temperature: boiled peony is not heat-resistant. If it is in hot summer, pay attention to cooling and shading. Boiled peony should not be exposed to strong light. At noon, it should be moved to the shady place, or protected by plastic bags with shading nets to avoid high temperature and strong light. Peony is drought-tolerant, but it should keep warm in severe cold, especially in the northern region. After the first frost is moved indoors, the room temperature should be kept above 5℃.
Watering: Watering Poached Peony likes to be wet. Water according to the weather and plant growth, and adhere to the principle of "no watering after drying, no soaking after watering thoroughly". In the spring and summer growing season, water is poured once a day or every other day to keep the soil semi-humid frequently, which is beneficial to its growth. Too dry soil will lead to malnutrition, and too wet soil will lead to rotten roots. In midsummer and winter dormancy, the basin soil should be relatively dry and slightly moist.
In case of continuous rainy days, the accumulated water in the basin should be removed in time to prevent waterlogging. If it is hot in summer, you should also increase the humidity and spray water around to cool down.
Fertilization: Paeonia lactiflora is a fleshy root, which is slightly drought-tolerant and afraid of water accumulation. Peony likes fertilizing. When planting or changing the soil in the pot, bone meal or decomposed organic fertilizer can be properly added to the pot soil, and some nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers can be mixed in the middle. If it is in the growing period, especially in the flowering period, liquid fertilizer should be applied, and the prepared vegetable rose (special fertilizer for flowers) should be applied once every half month to make it flourish in bloom. Pouch peony should be watered and loosened in time after each fertilization to facilitate ventilation.
Plastic pruning: Pay attention to the plastic pruning during the growth of Paeonia lactiflora, and the pruning time is appropriate in the dormant period. In summer or winter, when the stems and leaves become Huang Shi, the dead branches and some old branches can be cut off together; In the growing season, proper pruning is also necessary. Cutting off dense branches, crossed branches and branches with diseases and insect pests can not only reshape plants, but also preserve nutrients in pot soil for healthy growth of plants and improve light transmission and ventilation.
