Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County is located in the southeast of Chongqing, China, adjacent to Hubei and Guizhou. Located in Wuling mountain area, located in the lower reaches of Wujiang River, with an area of 3,905.22 square kilometers. National Highway 3 19 passes through the county seat and reaches the center of Chongqing for 270 kilometers. Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County has a total area of 3,903 square kilometers. The total population is 620,000 (2004). It borders Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County in the north, Lichuan City in Hubei Province in the northeast, Qianjiang District in the east, Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County in the southeast, Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County and Wuchuan Gelao and Miao Autonomous County in Guizhou Province in the south, Daozhen Gelao and Miao Autonomous County in Guizhou Province in the southwest, Wulong County in the west and Fengdu County in the northwest.

Pengshui is rich in tourism resources. The long historical and cultural accumulation has left a rich and colorful cultural landscape for more than 80 researchers to watch, and most of them are concentrated in Hanshan and Yushan towns. Green mountains, green waters and abundant animal and plant resources have created a complete natural landscape, and its scenic spots are mostly concentrated on the banks of Wujiang River, Yujiang River and Furong River.
