Robots used to build random pallets can be integrated into the warehouse management system (WMS) of the factory. Ideally, it will be the front-end part of WMS, working in coordination with warehouse software to produce mixed pallets.
Complex software can also meet the needs of the opposite tray. Generally speaking, this means that after the products are palletized, the labels of some or all primary packaging containers must face outwards. Robot palletizing equipment is another choice for demanding applications: palletizing in refrigerated warehouses. In the field of consumer goods packaging, it is one of the most difficult tasks to carry boxes in a refrigerated warehouse. In order to keep warm, workers have to work alternately frequently, which indirectly reduces work efficiency and increases labor costs.
In the freezing environment, the automatic random access stacker is not the right choice, because the compressed air pipes used by most automatic random access stackers will freeze in the cold storage. Compared with the automatic stacker, the palletizing robot is more compact, which is particularly important because the space in the freezer is very precious. Nevertheless, there are still some problems in the application of robots in cold storage.
When using palletizing robots, we should also consider an important thing, that is, how robots grab products. Vacuum gripper is the most common end tool (EOAT) of manipulator. Relatively speaking, they are cheap, simple to operate and can effectively load most loads. However, in some specific applications, vacuum holders will also encounter some problems, such as porous substrates, flexible packages with liquid contents, or packages with uneven surfaces.
Other EOAT options include clamshell clamps that can hold both sides of the bag or other packaging forms; A fork gripper inserted into the bottom of the package to lift the package; There is also a bag gripper, which is a mixture of a folder turnover device and a fork gripper, and its fork can wrap the bottom and side of the package.
Other combinations of basic EOAT types are also possible. A beverage packaging opportunity is difficult. The corrugated tray on the tray is full of bottles and the packaging shrinks. The vacuum sucker will tear off the film on the tray.
