Steel wire ropes are mainly used for lifting. And some places involving lifting are necessary and there is no substitute.
There are only a few types of wire ropes currently sold on the market: 6*7, 6*19, 6*37. What everyone calls hard silk and soft silk are actually 6*19 and 6*37. Generally, wire rope users prefer soft wire 6*37, because 6*37 is more flexible than 6*19. It is easier to operate wire rope equipment. In fact, 6*19 should be used on equipment with larger wheels such as winches, cranes, and cars, because hard wires of the same specification have stronger pulling force and better wear resistance.
With the development of the steel wire rope industry today, the steel wire rope industry has entered the era of the special steel wire rope industry. This article divides wire ropes into four main categories: point contact wire ropes, line contact wire ropes, surface contact wire ropes, and special-shaped strand wire ropes.
The point contact steel wire rope represents the structure 6*19, 6*37., and the thickness of the steel wire in the internal structure is the same. During the stress-bearing process, the wire rope is subjected to three forcing forces.
Line contact wire ropes mainly include 6*25Fi, 6*29Fi, 6*36SW, etc. These wire ropes with letters represent the thickness matching. Thick and thin wires are matched, and the thin wires fill the gaps between the thick wires. The wire rope in line contact is forced twice during the stress process.
Surface contact steel wire rope, typical structure: 6K*36SW, 18*7k. As the name suggests, the steel wire and the steel wire are in direct surface contact. During the stress-bearing process of the wire rope, it is subjected to a forcing force. Wear resistance, fatigue resistance, and surface contact wire ropes are the best.
Special-shaped strand steel wire ropes are mainly multi-layer strand non-rotating steel wire ropes, triangular strand steel wire ropes and braided steel wire ropes. 18*7 and 35w*7 are multi-strand non-rotating wire ropes, 4V*39S and 4V*48S are triangular strand wire ropes.
So what type of wire rope is used on what equipment? Because wire ropes are widely used, here we can only give you the usage of wire ropes for typical equipment with typical structures.
1. On a mining winch, try to use a line to contact the wire rope. If the drum is relatively large, it is more appropriate for the mine to consider using a surface contact line to contact the wire rope. For mining, consider surface contact steel wire ropes, such as 6*36SW. Hemp core. It's wear-resistant and flexible.
2. Tower cranes and cranes, because the drum is relatively small and the back and forth hoisting is relatively powerful, try to use non-rotating ones, such as 35W*7, 18*7, which are very good.
3. For cranes, 4V triangular strand wire ropes are also used in mines. If cost and wire rope technology are considered, 6*29Fi line contact wire ropes can also be considered.
4. Try to use multi-layer non-rotating wire ropes for cranes such as cranes and gantry cranes, because these equipment require stability and safety during the lifting process. However, the wire rope used for hoisting is still the old model 6*37, which is still better.
The selection of steel wire rope is also a very profound subject. It also depends on the usage of the device. There is no absolute good. Nothing is absolutely bad. But if you choose galvanized steel wire rope, hot-dip galvanized steel wire rope is definitely better than cold-dip galvanized steel wire rope. Because cold plating is only plated on the surface.
