What is the operation process of vine fan pruning?
Although there are many kinds of fan-shaped vines, the shaping process is similar. In the first year, first of all, the annual grape seedlings after planting should be determined according to the thickness of branches and vines before germination. The cultivation of dry fans should be mowed near the ground. Generally, when the thickness of seedlings is above 0.8 cm, 6-7 buds are cut short, and when the thickness is 0.6-0.7 cm, 4-5 buds are cut short. After germination, 3-4 strong new buds are left as the main vines of culture, and the rest are wiped off. When the thickness is less than 0.6 cm, 2 ~ 3 buds are cut short, and the main vine is cultivated in the second year after the strong branches are sent out. The new shoots of cultivated main vines should be straightened with temporary sticks in summer to make them grow healthily, and the longer ones can also be directly put on shelves. Leave a leaf for the secondary branch to pick the core to promote the development of the main branch. After defoliation in autumn, leave 60-70 cm stubble above the thickness 1 cm, and leave 2-3 stubble below 1 cm.

In the second year, the main shoots left in the upper part for a long time can send out several good new shoots, and the secondary shoots in the growing season still have a leaf for coring. After defoliation of the main shoots in autumn, the stout main spreading long vines on the upper part still keep short nodes of 60-70 cm, the lower 5-7 buds keep short nodes according to the lateral vines, and the rest keep short nodes of 2-3 buds to grow into branches, and the branch spacing is 20-35 cm. In the future, when pruning the short branches of the bearing vine, the spacing between branches can be closer, and when pruning the medium and long branches, the spacing between branches should be farther.

Last year, the short-lived main vine could produce 1 ~ 2 new shoots. After pruning and defoliation in autumn and winter, the thick long vines are selected as the main spreading vines, and they are still shortened according to the length of 60 ~ 70 cm, and the rest are thinned. It is also possible to purposefully cultivate only one strong vine that can be used as the main branch in the growing season. In the third year, continue to cultivate main vines, lateral vines and branches according to the above methods and subordinate relationships. The tree shape of the lateral vine is not cultivated, and all branches are directly cultivated on the main vine. When the height of the main vine reaches the third wire, and there are 2 lateral vines and 3 ~ 4 branches, the tree shape is basically completed.
