This bridge was completed in May 1900 and put into use in June19010. It is the first bridge on the west line of the Middle East Railway and the largest single-track railway bridge along the Middle East Railway. It was once called the First Songhua River Bridge. The bridge was built under the personal supervision of Liam Dovski, a Russian bridge expert and chief engineer of Middle East Railway Engineering Bureau, and the engineer Alekserov was responsible for the construction. This bridge has three characteristics: beautiful appearance, novel structure and advanced technology. The whole bridge has 19 holes, of which 8 holes are through arc steel trusses produced by Belgian steel structure factory, and the other 1 1 holes are through Warren steel trusses produced by Russian steel structure factory. At that time, the steel beam of the bridge was transported from Odessa Port to Vladivostok, passed through Ussuri Railway to Iman Port, then changed into a ship, and transported to the bridge construction site along Ussuri River, Heilongjiang River and Songhua River, where it was assembled on site. The total length of the whole bridge is 949.185m. The pier building is made of local materials, built of granite and cemented with gypsum lime mortar, which makes the bridge very strong. This century-old bridge witnessed the opening of the Middle East Railway, witnessed the important development process of Harbin from a small village to the cultural, economic and trade center of the Far East, and witnessed the urban history of Harbin in the late Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China, the Japanese Puppet and the New China, so it also has very precious cultural relics value.
