What should I pay attention to when I face paralysis?
Well, facial paralysis (facial neuritis, Bell's palsy, Hunter's syndrome), commonly known as "facial paralysis", "crooked mouth", "crooked mouth" and "hanging wind", is a common disease characterized by motor dysfunction of facial expression muscles. The general symptom is mouth-eye deviation. It is a common and frequently-occurring disease and is not limited by age. The patient's face often can't even complete the most basic movements such as raising eyebrows, closing eyes and bulging mouth. Facial paralysis can be divided into central type and peripheral type. 1. Central type: it is the supranuclear tissue (including cortex, cortical brainstem fibers, internal capsule, pons, etc. ) is damaged, and the lesion causes muscle paralysis in the lower part of the side. From top to bottom, the nasolabial groove becomes shallow, and the corners of the mouth droop when teeth are exposed (or the corners of the mouth tilt to the side of the lesion, that is, the opposite side of facial paralysis), so it is impossible to whistle and drum the cheeks. More common in cerebrovascular diseases, brain tumors and encephalitis. 2. Peripheral type: it is caused by facial nerve nucleus or facial nerve injury, and all muscles on the same side of the lesion are paralyzed. From top to bottom, it shows that you can't wrinkle your forehead, frown, close your eyes, corneal reflex disappears, nasolabial groove becomes shallow, you can't show your teeth, drum your cheeks and whistle, and your mouth droops (or your mouth tilts to the opposite side of the lesion, that is, the opposite side of facial muscle paralysis). It is more common in peripheral facial paralysis caused by cold, ear or meningeal infection and neurofibroma. In addition, there may be 2/3 taste disorder in front of the tongue, and the speech is unclear. Treatment methods; Body acupuncture, electroacupuncture, acupoint application, acupuncture and cupping, warm acupuncture, electroacupuncture plus acupoint infrared irradiation, comprehensive method, pricking blood. 1. General care: Take a proper rest in the acute period and pay attention to the continuous warmth of the face. You can wear a mask when you go out, and don't sleep near the window to avoid catching cold again. Be careful not to wash your face with cold water, avoid blowing cold air directly, pay attention to weather changes, and add clothes in time to prevent colds. 2. Local nursing: in the acute stage, apply a wet towel to the affected side, the water temperature is 50-60 degrees, 3-4 times a day, each time 15-20 minutes, and massage the affected side in the morning and evening. Massage should be gentle, moderate, continuous, smooth and accurate. Patients can perform self-expression training in front of the mirror: frown, close their eyes, whistle and show their teeth 2-3 times a day for 3- 10 minutes each time. 3, nutritional support: the diet should be nutritious, choose digestible food, ban smoking and alcohol, and avoid irritating food. 4. medication: take the medicine according to the doctor's advice. If you take prednisone, you should strictly follow the doctor's advice. Do not increase or decrease the dosage at will, and pay attention to observe whether there are any side effects such as gastrointestinal tract. During this period, it is easy to reduce the damage to the affected muscles and nerves by avoiding traumatic and irritating treatment. Pharyngeal infection should be treated with oral antibiotics according to the doctor's advice. 5. Eye care: Because the eyelids are not completely closed or can't be closed, the blinking movement and corneal reflex disappear, and the cornea is exposed for a long time, which is easy to cause intraocular infection and damage the cornea, so the eye movement is reduced. Wear goggles or colored glasses when sleeping or going out, and apply antibiotics and eye ointment to protect the cornea and prevent eye infection. 6. Oral care: rinse your mouth in time after eating to remove food residue between the affected cheek and teeth. 7. Psychological care: Most patients have sudden onset, which will inevitably lead to nervousness, anxiety, fear and other emotions. Some people are afraid of changing their faces and being ashamed to meet people, and the treatment effect is not good, leaving sequelae. According to the psychological characteristics of patients, we should patiently explain and comfort them, relieve their nervousness, make patients emotionally stable, receive treatment and nursing in the best state, and improve the treatment effect.
