What is the working principle of coating thickness gauge and what are its application fields?
Principle of magnetic thickness measurement: When the probe is in contact with the coating, the probe and the magnetic metal matrix form a closed magnetic circuit. Because of the existence of non-magnetic coating, the magnetic resistance of magnetic circuit changes, and the thickness of coating can be calculated by measuring its change.

Principle of eddy current thickness measurement: electromagnetic field is formed in the coil by using high frequency alternating current. When the probe contacts the coating, eddy current appears on the metal substrate and reacts with the coil in the probe. The thickness of the covering layer can be obtained by measuring the reaction.

Scope of application of coating thickness gauge

The coating thickness gauge can measure the thickness of nonmagnetic coating on ferromagnetic materials simply and non-destructively, such as zinc, copper, chromium and other coatings on the outer surface of steel or coatings such as paint, enamel, glass fiber reinforced plastic, plastic spraying and asphalt. The instrument is widely used in machinery, automobile, shipbuilding, petroleum, chemical industry, electroplating, plastic spraying, enamel, plastic and other industries.
