3damx and rhinoceros are two different modeling methods. The former is polygon modeling and the latter is surface modeling. Specifically, you can build a sphere in two softwares, and you can tell it by opening the construction line.

The former displays multiple curves according to F4 display wireframe, while the latter displays three curves in wireframe mode. I believe many people use rhinoceros to import Max rendering, and some people like to import it in *.3ds format. Generally, there are no broken faces, and at most some faces find mistakes.
