Looking for amber

Frederick William I, king of Prussia, never thought that he would have such an amazing history and sent a great gift to the people of Prussia. This gift is named Amber Room because it is made of several tons of amber. These selected amber have a beautiful yellow-brown color like honey. The design of this room was the most popular and peculiar style at that time. This is also the treasure that the best artists at that time decorated with gold and jewels for about ten years.

In fact, this room was not built as a gift. This was designed for Frederick I's territory .. However, the next king of Prussia was also the owner of the Amber Room, and Frederick William I decided not to keep it. 17 16, he gave the amber room to Peter the Great. In return, the czar gave Frederick a team of his best soldiers. Therefore, the Amber Room became a part of St. Petersburg, a holy place for the czar to escape from the cold. The Amber Room is a small reception for important visitors, which is about four meters long.

Later, Catherine II put the Amber Room in a summer place outside St. Petersburg. She asked her artist to add more details. 1770, the amber room completely became what she wanted. Nearly 600 candles burned in the house, making mirrors and pictures look like gold. Sadly, although it is considered as one of the wonders of the world, the Amber Room is now lost.

194 1 September, Nazi troops were near St. Petersburg. This is the time when the two countries are at war. Before the Nazis went to the summer resort, the Russian people were able to remove some furniture and small works of art from the Amber Room. However, some Nazis mysteriously stole the Amber Room. In at least two days, more than 100000 pieces of amber were packed into 27 wooden cases. These boxes will undoubtedly be loaded on a ship and transported to Konigsberg in the pineapple sea where the Germans were stationed at that time. After that, what happened in the Amber Room remains a mystery.

Recently, Russians and Germans built a new amber hall in a summer resort. By studying the photos of the old amber room, they made a new amber room exactly like the old one. In 2003, people in St. Petersburg used it to celebrate the city's 300th birthday.
