Huaguang Building, also known as Zhenjiang Building, is located between Shang Hua Street and Xiahua Street, close to Jialing River and opposite Nanjinguan Lianfeng Building, which is a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. According to legend, this building was built on the site of the South Building built in the Tang Dynasty, so it was still called the South Building before the Ming Dynasty and has been called the Building since the Qing Dynasty. It was burnt in the past dynasties, and now it is rebuilt in the sixth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (AD 1867), covering an area of 8 mu, with a building area of 150 square meters.
Huaguang Building is the guard room across the street. It was built on a 5-meter-high stone platform with a total height of 36 meters and a four-story roof. Covered with emerald glazed tiles, the ridge decoration is complicated. It covers the overlapping top of people, animals and palaces (in ancient times, it refers to eagles) with the shape of gems, reaching 3 meters. Each floor is decorated with flowers separated by doors, and there is a circle around the corridor. On the floor, there is a miniature of the 12th floor of Langfan and famous paintings and calligraphy works. Look at the beautiful scenery of the ancient city. Li Xianqing's poem "South Building" in Shizhou, Song Renzong said: "The river lights hold the city on three sides, and the mountains lock the haze on all sides." It can be seen that Huaguang Building is the landmark building of Langzhong ancient city. The stone platform foundation at the bottom of the building has a north-south arched doorway for pedestrians to pass, and the red army slogan is engraved on the stone gate. There is a horizontal plaque inscribed by Guo Moruo on the side door of the ground floor, which goes up and down Huajie Street, inside and outside the building. It used to be a downtown area in Langzhong. Jin Yulin's poem "Climbing the Tower at Night" wrote: "Spring City is not a night, and the city is full of people." This is a true portrayal of the bustling scene around at that time.
