The shape of the mouth and nose in the mouth and nose animation is very cute. You don't need to practice different styles to learn step by step. The following example will benefit you a lot.
What is shown here is the nose and mouth in the basic animation style. It consists of three basic simple shapes: a wedge-shaped nose, a slender line serving as the mouth, and a shorter line defining the lower lip. (But this shorter lower lip line doesn't have to be drawn. ) In the front view as shown in the figure, you can first draw some lines to determine the position of the nose and mouth. The size and shape of the nose and mouth can be adjusted according to different people, but they must be in a straight line. To help locate, you can draw a vertical auxiliary line as shown in the figure. The second picture above is a side face, but the mouth and nose are still arranged in a curve, which shows that it is in the center of the face.
It is more difficult to draw the nose and mouth on the side than to draw the front or 3/4 side (in fact, it is more difficult to draw the front realistically). The main reason is that the lips are not very sure, so they can't be fixed in a simple straight line like above, and they must be drawn honestly by themselves. Our predecessors taught us to overcome all difficulties and strive for victory! If the painting is good, the effect will be quite good. The first consideration is the curve formed by nose, lips and chin. The upper lip should be bent inward, while the lower lip (slightly backward on the side) should be bent outward. This can only be achieved through more practice, otherwise-the character's face may be painted strangely or have a flat mouth.
The lower part of the face consists of some contrasting curves. Pay attention to the drawing of these two pictures. The curve of the nose is facing the face, and then it bends back slightly to the right above the upper lip. The upper lip bends inward and the lower lip bends outward. The chin is not a simple straight line, but a smooth outward curve.
Here are some different styles of mouths and noses. Some can be used for different gender roles, and they are too lazy to classify. Note that in some styles, the mouth is just a thin straight line, while in other styles, the lips are better drawn. In animation, the mouth is generally not too big, unless the character is shouting, so it should be drawn smaller. There are many ways to draw the nose: some are wedge-shaped, some are shaded, and some are so detailed that you can even see the nostrils (if you are more careful _). The noses of female characters tend to be smaller and less inked, while the noses of men are generally longer and angular.
There are more sides, nose and mouth shapes. Even if the proportion and expression have changed, they still follow the requirements of the above basic modeling. When you draw your face at this angle, be careful not to draw your nose too sharp and your face too flat. The facial curve should be determined properly, otherwise the drawn face will look unnatural.
Multi-angle head modeling This paper will talk about the basic drawing methods of human face from different angles of animation modeling. Although we only take the standard animated female face as an example here, we can draw all kinds of characters at will as long as we adjust its proportion. Draw a big circle in the front view, split it horizontally, and then split it vertically. The spacing between horizontal lines does not have to be accurate, but its proportion depends on the face you want to draw. Don't be too demanding.
Next, make a small mark (a short line, not a dot) directly below the circle. In this figure, the distance from the circle to the mark is the same as the length of the third bisector of the circle. The mark position is the character's chin. It is better to draw short lines than dots, otherwise the chin will become too sharp. The position of chin marks is a way to adjust the face and appearance. Next, draw two diagonal auxiliary lines, which must be tangent to the circumference (tangent middle school mathematics) and pass through the edge of the chin mark.
Then, make your face plump, not so thin. Draw two rounded triangles on both sides of the face. Adjusting the thickness of the triangle and the height of the cheekbones (where the triangle bends) can change the face shape and appearance, and draw different figures.
Now that the lower part of the face has been formed, let's add eyes, nose and mouth. Different people's eyes will have slightly different positions, but they are generally located in the lower part of the circle. The nose is about in the middle under the face (that is, the area under the circumference), and the mouth is just below the nose. If the face is lower in Japanese style, the characters will look younger. It is simpler and more realistic to use the traditional three pavilions and five eyes as the proportion. )
Next, erase the auxiliary line and fill in the details of the eyes. Now you can see the basic shape of the roughly finished face, and you can add all the details you like, such as hair, clothes, jewelry, tattoos, scars and so on (of course, the more the better, otherwise it is snake feet).
3/4 view
Draw a big circle first, just like the front view, but now turn the auxiliary line to the upper left. This part of the head is a three-dimensional sphere, so no matter which direction you rotate, the auxiliary line should be consistent with the curve of the sphere. Divide the face into three parts horizontally and two parts vertically. Of course, because of the angle of the circle we draw, the auxiliary line will not divide it into exactly equal parts, but it must be remembered that if you rotate the sphere to the front view again, it should look exactly like what is written in the tutorial.
Next, extend the vertical auxiliary curve under the sphere, and select a point under the sphere to represent the position of the chin. The distance from the circumference to the chin should be slightly longer than the length of the third segment of the circle. Draw two auxiliary lines tangent to the circumferential edge and contact with the chin mark position. The auxiliary line on the left should be steeper than that on the right.
Draw the outline of the face round, and draw two rounded triangles on both sides of the auxiliary line. The left side of the face should bend outward to contact the circumference, while the curve on the right side should be smoothly inclined. If you want to draw well, practice is essential.
Then draw eyes, nose and mouth. The eyes are in the lower part of the circle. You can refer to "Drawing Eyes of Animated Characters" in this tutorial to learn how to arrange eyes at this angle. The five senses should be arranged along the auxiliary line in the middle, and don't draw it askew! Otherwise it will look ugly; ) The nose is generally under the eyes, and the mouth is generally under the nose (this is a familiar saying-Tang Priest is riding a horse followed by a the Monkey King). Be careful not to put your mouth to the left of your nose; From this perspective, most of them are on the right side of the vertical auxiliary curve.
After some line optimization, the basic modeling of 3/4 viewing angle pan/tilt is completed. Add your favorite hairstyle and jewelry to her!
Here are some heads with different angles. Each one is done by adding auxiliary lines to a base circle, just as in the previous tutorial (for more information about drawing side heads-for example, refer to the "nose and mouth" tutorial). Maybe the proportion of these faces is not perfect, because as an example, these pictures are completely different types of faces (many of them are painted by men ...).
The basic hairstyles are all the usual types, and the hair of an animated character will be very complicated. However, if you break them down into basic elements to draw, it will simplify the process. Like real hair, comic hair is made up of many strands of hair. However, instead of drawing each strand of hair individually, it is usually better to draw them into hair bundles of different sizes and shapes. As the picture shows, these are some of the simplest forms of each hairstyle. Note that in most cases, the lines at the bottom of the hair bundle are more curved-for example, the example at the top left in the picture is particularly obvious. The lines below are more curved than the lines above, making the hair deeper and more cartoon (cartoon? ) yes. Hair is sometimes exaggerated, but sometimes only people can see it, but in most comic hairstyles, every strand of hair will be this basic shape.
Now let's start practicing some slightly complicated shapes. Pay attention to how to change the size and shape of each strand of hair to make it have different characteristics. Each strand of hair can be thin and straight, or it can be thick and curved. Please note that you can draw hair very carefully or very simply, depending on the number of hair strands you draw.
When you know how to draw each strand of hair well, you can start to combine them to form a comic style hairstyle. Look at each example in this picture (the author himself doesn't understand why the group of hair in the lower left corner is discounted), and pay attention to how the basic hairline is used from the first step. Those similar shapes usually run through many different hairstyles. Draw an outward curve on each strand of hair as hair, which will make the hair look more vivid. It is also worth noting that you can describe the details of your hair according to your own preferences, just by increasing the number of strands of your hair.
Here are some basic hairstyles. Notice how the hair overlaps and nests when it bends and rotates. In short, you can draw a very interesting hairstyle at two points: 1, curly hair; 2. Read this tutorial carefully.
Male eyes
Next, we will draw some men's eyes. Generally, male characters will be ignored by comic lovers, because many artists think that men are more difficult to draw (women are more difficult to draw, but men and women are easier to draw, which is a test for readers and authors to distinguish between men and women in comics), but it is really not such a "difficult problem", although the difference between the two is really great. Most men's eyes are thinner and narrower than women's, but sometimes there are exceptions. This type of eyes (it should be Hotohori belonging to Fushigi Yuugi (this film has never been seen), narrower than other women's eyes, but not so thin, seems to belong to that kind of dark and suspicious person. _ Start to draw a thick and long curve, similar to a horizontal line, but with a little radian. The edge of the line should be slightly bent inward, and the left end is more obvious.
Gently draw two diagonal auxiliary lines to help define the lower eye frame. The auxiliary lines start from both sides of the upper eye frame and are almost perpendicular to each other. Don't draw too obliquely or too straight, otherwise the eye size will not be so accurate. Draw the lower eye frame line of the eye and help you determine its position through the auxiliary line.
Erase the auxiliary line and draw the iris. The iris is a perfect circle, but part of it will be covered by eyelids. Don't draw the eyeball too small, at least you can see the whole object. (Unless you want to express strong emotions, such as surprise or anger, please refer to the tutorial "Emotion")
The eyes of male characters are also very bright, but the highlights are not so big and obvious. Draw an ellipse on the left edge of the eyeball and a sharp shape on the right corner as the highlight area.
Draw pupils, bright light and deep shadows, especially if the characters have black eyes. Then draw double eyelids and eyelashes. The eyebrows of male characters are generally deeper and thicker, so remember not to draw thin arch eyebrows. It's not hard, is it? _ Don't worry about eyes looking too feminine. In fact, it is often difficult to tell which eyes must belong to men and which must belong to women (eyes are not a sign of gender distinction after all). Some styles of eyes can also be unisex.
Long and narrow eyes are often (of course, not absolutely) associated with those darker and deeper characters. Bad guys usually have a narrow vision, but don't treat all people with this vision as enemies. Draw this style of eyes, first draw a long curve, pay attention to the left side of the curve is more inclined than the right side.
Then draw two oblique auxiliary lines from both sides of the upper eye frame. The angle is a little different from the first three of the tutorial: the left one is much flatter than the right one. Draw the lower part of the eye with reference to the guide line. It should be curved, not straight, so the whole eye looks like an elongated oval.
Erase the auxiliary line and draw the iris. The iris should be covered by the upper eyelid, otherwise the iris is a perfect circle. Bold the line color in the right corner of the eye.
Draw highlights and double eyelids above the eyes.
Add the pupil to draw a shadow on the iris, add the eyebrows, and the eye is finished. Finally, smooth and deepen the lines. ^_^
Here are some men's eyes. Note that some can't be used for women, and the eye difference between men and women is not always so obvious, especially when drawing children. Most types of eyes here are narrower than those of women, and the upper border of men's eyes is not that thick. Men's eyes don't always have highlights, but they always like to draw sparkling pictures:)
After drawing your right eye, you may want to draw your left eye again. All you need to do is draw an exact mirror image of the original eye. However, the placement of the second eye requires some skill. The eyes in animation, no matter what style, are always the difference between one eye. The distance can be large or small, but it is a better method to measure it by the length of one eye (that is, three pavilions and five eyes).
Maybe you don't always draw the front of your face, so you should know how to arrange your eyes at different angles. In the "Head" content of the Self-study Guide to Conventional Facial Painting, you will see how to use curves as auxiliary lines to define the position of eyes. Beginners always draw auxiliary lines to help determine the position of their eyes. You don't have to do this until you really master it-you don't want your eyes to be off center. Note that in the picture on the left, the eyes on the right are much smaller and flatter than those on the left and right, because they are farther away from you.
This one is similar, too-only the head is tilted in the other direction. In this picture, the left eye is smaller than the right one, but it still follows the curve of the face. If the two eyes are in the wrong position, it will be ugly, so-hum, be careful! Women's eyes are one of the most important characteristics that reflect the character of anime characters. Eyes are the most abundant part of facial expressions, and also the part that distinguishes different roles and makes them distinct. So it is very important to draw good eyes. In this part of "Self-study Guide to Conventional Facial Painting", you will know how to draw eyes in various comic styles. Some common online tutorials often only tell you how to draw beautiful women's big eyes, but they don't carefully distinguish the obvious changes of different styles of eyes. This course includes the drawing methods of different types of eyes for men and women in comics, with some examples of other styles, hoping to help you draw your own original comic characters and perhaps make your characters more beautiful. Part of this course is based on graphics processing software, such as ps, but it seems to be more suitable for hand-drawn learning. ) Now let's start with the drawing of the most common cartoon eyes-"beautiful big eyes". Draw an upward curve first, and the line at the highest point of the curve should be a little thicker. Here we draw the eyes on the right side of the face (that is, the left eye of the character), so the left end of the curve is higher than the right end (the corner of the big eyes of the Japanese is a little droopy, which is pitiful, but if it is too droopy, the little dragon girl will become the old dragon girl). In fact, the top of this unformed eye is not a perfect curve, but a bit angular. Other types of eyes are almost completely bent at the top.
Next, let's draw the lower part of the eye. In order to determine its position, we gently draw two diagonal lines from the edge of the upper eyeliner as auxiliary lines. The inclination of the auxiliary line determines how wide the eyes will be. You can look at the examples at the back of this page to experience the changing effect of line inclination. Draw the eyeliner through the auxiliary line, the corner of the eye is slightly inclined to the lower right, and the line in the lower right corner is slightly thicker.
Erase the auxiliary line and draw a long oval in your eyes. There are also anime characters whose iris (eyeball) is a big circle, but here we draw it as a slender oval. Of course, you can also widen the shape according to your own preferences. The upper part of the ellipse will be covered by the upper eyeliner-in fact, no matter what style of eyes, we can't see the whole eyeball, and the upper part will almost be covered by the edge of the eye frame (except, of course, when we are frightened or angry). Next, draw the outline of the eye highlights. Usually cartoon characters have some shadows in their eyes. Girls in comics generally have obvious shadows and luster. Create a light source of your choice in your painting, which is the same in the whole picture. For example, if the light in a painting comes from the left, then the highlight area of the rest of the picture must also come from the left, otherwise the relationship between light and shade will not be harmonious (unless you use multiple light sources, but this range is not involved in this textbook). Draw two long ellipses: the big ellipse is on the upper left of the iris (eye) (overlapping with the iris edge, as shown in the figure), and the small ellipse is on the other side of the eye.
Next, draw the pupil under the highlight. The highlight area is usually at the top, so don't draw pupils under the highlight. Then draw eyelashes. In this eye we painted, eyelashes are continuous spikes that grow from the upper right corner of the eye. Eyelashes should be drawn along the curve of the eyes, so that they will look like they grow from the eyes. Don't just draw some zigzag lines and stick them on her eyes. In fact, eyelashes are tiny curves born from eyelids.
(Describe the function of PS here) Click the check box on the layer panel and set the layer 1 to "preserve transparency", as shown in the left figure. This can only add color to the existing lines, and will not stain the blank space without color. Its function is very important. :) Choose a big brush and apply it on the whole screen with pure black (0,0,0). The edge of the mark will be black. :)
Ok, now let's draw another style of eyes-not the kind we usually see. This type is more slender, elegant and realistic, so it is often used in more serious animations and cartoons. This special eye belongs to Deedlit's "Lodos War" (is it the Battle of Rhode Island? ) class, much cooler than the killer (this kind of look starts with the killer! )。 Draw a slender curve first. The left side is lower than the right side, and the turn on the left side of the line is sharper.
In order to easily define the lower edge of the eye, two diagonally intersecting lines are gently drawn from the edge of the eye as auxiliary lines. Unlike the tutorial above, the auxiliary lines here are not so vertical. The more horizontal the auxiliary line is, the smaller the eyes will be. But don't draw too straight, because you don't want these eyes to become squints. Draw the bottom line of the eye through the auxiliary line.
Erase the auxiliary lines and draw the outline of the iris (eyeball). If there are no eyelids, the eyeball is a perfect circle. However, because the eyeball is blocked by the edge of eyelid, we can't see the top and bottom of the eyeball. Don't draw the eyeball too small, at least you can see the whole object. Unless you want to convey some emotion, such as anger or surprise, that's another part. )
Next, draw highlights on the iris, the position and drawing method are as mentioned above, but here the light of the eyeball itself is much smaller and more round. Then, we draw double eyelids on our eyes.
Draw eyebrows on the rest of the iris (? ) and shadows. Remember to draw the pupil under the highlight. No matter how dark the rest of the eyes are, the pupil should be slightly prominent.
You can draw these different styles of female eyes in the same way. Try to observe the differences of each style, but they are all the same. Although the shape and proportion have changed, the highest edge of the eye is always thicker; There are always many layers of shadows on the eyes, and so on. Although some of them are really sketches and look a little messy, I hope this can still help everyone.
