Ban Ling, also called Bancaishi, is a very precious gem. This is a unique and rare gem. Bancaishi is an organic bio-gem, such as pearls and amber. It is a shell fossil of the Oncomelania 70 million years ago, made of fluorite.

Fluorite crystals made in China are famous for their high yield and good quality. Among them, the famous producing areas are Xianghualing Mine, Xianghuapu Mine, Dongshan Mine and Chashan Mine in Chenzhou, Hunan Province, and blue fluorite in Yaogang County, Hunan Province. Different producing areas have different fluorite characteristics.
