Zheng He's voyage to the West was a voyage during Yongle and Xuande of Ming Dynasty. The maiden voyage began in the third year of Yongle (1405), and the final voyage ended in the eighth year of Xuande (1433), counting seven times. Zheng He was appointed as an envoy, and the fleet sailed to the west of Borneo (the so-called "Western Ocean" in the Ming Dynasty), hence the name.
On the seventh voyage to the Western Ocean, Zheng He, the eunuch of Sambo, led a fleet from Nanjing, assembled at Liujiagang, Taicang, Jiangsu, stopped at Kaiyang, Taiping Port, Changle, Fuzhou, Fujian, sailed to the western Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean, and visited more than 30 countries and regions such as Java, Sumatra, Sulu, Pahang, Zhenla, Guri, Siam, Bangla, Adan, Arabia, Zufar, Hulumusi and Arabia. Zheng He's voyage to the Western Ocean was the largest and longest voyage in ancient China, with the largest number of ships and sailors. It is also the largest series of maritime expeditions in the world history before the voyage of the great discovery of European geography at the end of 15.
