1800s
The Black Rock is a cargo ship used to transport slaves and is on its way across the Pacific Ocean. The ship carries a large number of various types of minerals, which react strongly to the magnetic field. Unfortunately, the ship got lost and met an island. Because the island itself has a very unique magnetic field, which reacts with the magnetic field of the metal on board, the ship keeps moving to the island. At the same time, the mineral magnetic field on the ship is very strong, creating an invisible hole around the island, and this hole is at coordinate 325, which is called "special coordinate". Daniel's team came to the island through this hole.
The crew of Blackstone, including Alvar Hanso, learned about the magic of the island, set up an organization called DHARMA, and brought more researchers to the island to explore the secrets of the island. The slaves on the black stone, that is, others, ran to the depths of the island and hid. Richard is a descendant of this group of people.
1960s
Dharma was founded to study human beings. With the advancement of research, the study of human beings has been designed as a huge fate test project from the beginning. At the same time, within the Dharma organization, someone intends to make a time machine.
The time machine was started in 1960. After a year of operation, someone is going to use it. This time machine can only go back to the past, only a year ago, that is, 1960 when the time machine just started running. When you travel back to the past, you stay in the past, and you can't go back to 196 1 year, because you now exist in 1960. Suppose you get a fatal disease at 1965, but you go back to 1960, that is, before you get sick, when you get out of the time machine, you won't get sick because you are in the past. So Dharma realized the great power of this time machine and decided to find another remote island to isolate and test this time machine. Before Dharma began to test this time machine with humans, they decided to test it with animals first, so they found a polar bear that could not survive on this tropical island. They sent a polar bear back a few years ago to see if it could survive. As a result, they found that when they sent polar bears back to a few years ago, polar bears lived well on a remote island. Dharma organization found that if polar bears can survive in the tropical environment as long as they are sent back, it means that they can make the biological parts invincible.
After experimenting with polar bears for a period of time, Dharma began to send humans back to the past. After studying the time machine for several years, Dharma began to think about what would happen if people sent back to the past changed history. Out of curiosity, dharma began to try to change history by going back to the past. Unfortunately, those who were sent back to the past and tried to change history failed.
Anxious to prove that this time machine is profitable, the Dharma organization intends to do experiments with others, so they use a rather despicable method. First, they released a virus on the island, infecting a part of others, and then the Dharma organization claimed that there was an instrument to treat the disease. In fact, this instrument for treating this disease is a time machine. What Dharma wants to prove is that if these infected people are sent back before the virus is released, will the virus disappear from these people? Other people infected with the virus know nothing about it, thinking that they can be cured as long as they raise seedlings. As a result, others who were sent back to the past really recovered and were no longer troubled by the virus, but they were all killed by black smoke, which is the product of the revision of the history of the timeline. Dharma is also the first time to see black smoke. Out of fear of black smoke, they had to stop studying the time machine. The only result that Dharma got from this incident was to anger all the residents on the island.
1970- 1985
Ben's mother was recruited by the Dharma Initiative to study the island's time machine. After several years of research, she finally gave up her research. Then, she met Richard, the future leader of others, and he told her all the terrorist acts that Dharma did to his people, which directly led to many deaths. After learning the truth, Ben's mother began to hate what Dharma did and thought that scientific research could not be based on losing morality and hurting innocent people.
Ben's mother thinks that instead of leaving the island angrily and wasting 15 years, it is better to go back to the island 15 years ago with a time machine and leave immediately. In this case, from the outside world, she has never stayed on the island. So she made this. She used a time machine to go back to 15 years ago, making up for the time lost in 15 years.
1970s
Ben's mother returned to 1970 about 15 years later and returned to Oregon again. She met a person she liked, married him and got pregnant. However, in the future she experienced on the island, she actually had no children and now lives outside the island. Unfortunately, Dharma did not find any connection between the dead child/mother and time travel. Juliet once saw a 26-year-old woman with X-rays, but she had a 70-year-old uterus. The side effect of time travel seems to be that although your body can become younger by traveling back to the past, your uterus will always be the same as before. )
Ben's mother died just before giving birth to Ben, but she gave birth to Ben before she died. As for the cause of her death, it is because the timeline is revising history and replacing his mother with Ben's survival. In other words, Ben is the embodiment of his mother, born to inherit her legacy, become an unhappy Dharma engineer, and finally bring down the organization. Ben's task is to find out how to control fate and find a way to control the time machine without dharma.
1980
Shortly after Ben's mother died, their good friend Horace recommended them to the island. Horace is a person connected with the Dharma Organization. His task is to investigate Ben's mother. After he found out that Ben's mother had died, he recommended Ben's father and Ben to the island. In fact, Ben's father is just a hard worker. Their real target is not Ben's father, but Ben. In this way, they can monitor how Ben is affected by the timeline and observe how Ben inherits his mother's fate. But at that time, Ben didn't know that his fate was like this. He only knows how to live well every day and be less bullied by his illegitimate father.
198 1 year
After living on the island for some time, Ben began to hear and see his mother who died on the island. The reason why he saw his dead mother is because he and his mother experienced the same future together. His mother used to live on this island and work for the dharma initiative. She looked half dead because her soul was designed to help Ben understand his mission so that he could inherit her mother's legacy. Therefore, the appearance of this mother's soul is also a way for the timeline to correct history.
Shortly after Ben met his dead mother, he met Richard in the jungle. Richard said to him, "You are not ready." Richard is also a time traveler and hates Dharma very much. When Ben first met Richard in the jungle, Richard had just crossed to 198 1 from 2005, which is why he didn't grow old with Ben. Why did Richard travel through time and space to find Ben? He is here to help and train Ben. Richard knows that Ben's mother and Ben are in alternate time and space, so he also knows that Ben is the embodiment of his mother and a miracle on this island. Since then, Richard and Ben have spent several years studying how to finally take down Dharma, so as to study the time machine without killing people.
1988
Rousseau's team became a force against Dharma. At that time, they had no contact with others. They went to the island to investigate the ugly business behavior of Dharma Company, mainly referring to releasing the virus to the local people on the island and then using it for experiments. Unfortunately, at that time, Ben and others had not taken Dharma. Rousseau doesn't want dharma to experiment with her children. When the children were taken away by Dharma, she set up a ring signal on the island and played for help outside the island. Although the signal has been played for decades, all the signals have been blocked and never sent to the island.
The second part (* * * three parts):
198 1-2007
Ben grew up from 10 to 37 years old, during which he and Richard have been making the ultimate plan to destroy the whole Buddhism. At the same time, Dharma continues to study other special abilities of the island to see if it can do other things with a time machine. During the research, Dharma found that there was an unusual magnetic force passing through the swan workstation, which covered the whole island. Unfortunately, Dharma only did some basic research on this magnetic force, and they also figured out what they could do with this force. At the same time, others and Dharma are studying how to use time machines to achieve incredible things.
Time travel is not very clearly defined in Lost's play, but a concept in the play. When something strange happens in the play that can't be explained, it is interpreted as fate on the surface, but it is actually correcting history and ensuring that what has happened will not be changed.
This is what Dharma and others discovered from time travel:
1, people who enter the time machine can only go back to the time when the time machine was running.
When you go back to the past, you won't become young. For example, if you are 50 years old now, you have entered the time machine and returned to 10 years ago. You won't be 40 years old again, but you will live 10 years. You won't be old until you pass this 10 year and enter the time machine at the age of 50.
When you go back to the past, you will still keep your hairstyle, tattoo and memory when you enter the time machine. Suppose you were paralyzed when you entered the time machine, but fate will try to make you be yourself in the past and spend this time. Therefore, the time machine can temporarily cure any diseases that existed in your body before you entered the time machine. However, fate will try to get you back to the normal timeline. Suppose you were paralyzed by being pushed out of the window before, and your condition improved after entering the time machine, but fate will try to correct this mistake, such as being paralyzed by a car.
When you go back to the past, you can only change something that is irrelevant and will not change your destiny. For example, you went to church one day, and then you went back to the past. You don't have to go to church that day to keep the timeline correct. However, if you went to church that day because you changed your religion and started to believe, then fate will try to make you believe again, such as giving you a near-death experience, or a mysterious person persuading you to believe in a jewelry store. Even if you can't find a way to make you believe in religion, I will kill you.
If you go back to the past and die, you are not completely dead, because you are actually alive in the future, so you will become half dead until fate needs you. In other words, you will only exist for some people, while others will not. When you need to change someone's fate, you will appear.
If you haven't had children, you can't go back to having children. Fate does not allow new material life to be born in the past that has happened. Otherwise, fate will kill the mother, or the child, or kill them all together. Unless fate decides to replace someone in the timeline with this mother or child.
7. Basically, the operating rules of the time machine do not conform to the physical laws of any time travel, and any rules are determined by fate against the timeline. So if you achieve something in the future, fate will try its best to help you achieve it. We have seen ghosts and black smoke in Lost. According to the play's understanding of time travel, fate has its own interesting way to correct the timeline.
In 2007
Driven by hatred, Ben, Richard and Jacob returned to 1996 and killed all the Dharma members on the island. Then they found that some members of the Dharma Initiative were not on the island (Penny's father), and others had to find ways to prevent other members from returning to the island and destroy them. Therefore, for the purpose of hiding the island from the outside world, Ben put the island into a time cycle, which would make the island stay in the past (1996) and prevent other Dharma members from coming to the island. After realizing this time period, Ben and Richard gathered the remaining residents of the island and formed the organization "The Other" against Dharma.
In order to create this time period, Ben and Richard secretly transferred the time machine from Arrow workstation to Swan workstation. With the help of engineer Mikhail, they were able to hide the time machine cement in the deepest part of the swan workstation. Then, Mikhail adjusted the time machine and the magnetic field around the island, realizing the possibility of putting the whole island into the time machine. In a hurry, they completed a computer system to maintain the time cycle. This computer system needs to be activated every 108 minutes, and each activation is equivalent to activating a time machine. So the time in the real world outside is still passing as usual, while the time on the island stayed at 1996 until the plane crashed in 2004. The only way to enter the island time from the real world time is through the special coordinates that appear in the fourth season. In the third season, Ben once said to Richard, "Remember when we celebrated our birthdays?" So if other people's time always cycles between 108 minutes, then it is impossible for them to celebrate their birthdays.
1996- 1996 (8 years on the island)
The time on the island stays within 108 minutes. Others and the island are invisible in this world, and others continue to study the time machine. Others want to build a new world on this island. They want the island to stay in this time period forever. They think that as long as time remains unchanged, the rules of fate will not work. However, there is a problem. Time stands still, and all pregnant women and children on the island will be killed by fate. Others need to find a way to create life on the island. So they invited Juliet to the island to solve this problem, and they also found an officer named kelvin to activate the time machine to convince him that he was saving the world and that everyone on the island would not get old.
Because this island doesn't exist in the real world, Ben and Richard must strictly control everyone who goes in and out of this island. In addition, you have to go through a special passage created by Black Rock hundreds of years ago to leave and enter the island. If you don't leave the island through that special coordinate, it means that you have entered the present world from the past, and you must find a constant that exists in both worlds to survive (Desmond found Penny). Similarly, if you enter the island from the outside without special coordinates, your mind will stay between the present time and the past time on the island. Similarly, if you want to survive, you must find that constant.
Jacob travels through time like Ben and Richard, but we haven't seen his entity yet. In the process of these three people going back to the past through time and space, Jacob died for some reason, but in fact, Jacob was alive on the island at this time. Until 2007, they crossed the time and space before 1996, so Jacob was not completely dead, his soul was still alive, and he could communicate with Ben and Richard.
1996-2004 (original timeline)
Because the time on the island stays at 1996, the lives of all the main characters in Lost are revealed through memories, and we also know these characters through these life fragments between 1996-2004. Once these characters escape from the island, they will live for eight years again, just like Jack's future at the end of the third season.
1996 (the time on the island is about 200 1 year in the present world).
Juliet was hired to the island to help solve the problem of pregnant women giving birth. Juliet is a sincere and kind person, so she will do whatever it takes to save her sister. After arriving on the island, she didn't notice that the time on the island would not change, and Ben tried his best to leave her on the island. Richard and Ethan left the island through special coordinates and went back to complete the recruitment task about five years ago (1996). Because Ben came from the future, he knew the exact time when Juliet's husband was killed by a car, so he asked Richard and Ethan to contact Juliet a few days before the incident, because that was the best time to persuade Juliet to come to the island. Besides, Ben also knew that Juliet's sister's cancer would eventually be cured, which is why he could have told Juliet that he could cure her sister as long as she came to the island.
1996 (the time on the island is about 200 1 year in the present world).
One of the main members of the Dharma Initiative, Penny's father Whitmore got Blackstone's log at an auction, and thus got special coordinates for safe entry and exit from the island. Whitmore hired Libby's husband as the first experimental subject to go to the island. He gave Libby's husband a boat and the coordinates to the island. As a result, Libby's husband died unexpectedly. Later, Desmond got the ship and coordinates, but he wasn't sure whether Whitmore might want to get rid of him, so he gave it to him, or whether Desmond happened to get it.
The Secret of Lost Time Travel Theory Part III:
2004 (Today's World)
Dayang 8 15 crashed on an island. Because Desmond didn't press the button and start the machine that can balance the magnetic force on the island within 108 minutes, a huge magnetic field was generated, which tore Ocean 8 15 in half, half in the magnetic field, that is, 1996 eight years ago, and half outside the magnetic field, that is, in 2004. There are two huge questions here: Is it fate that Dayang 8 15 crashed on this small island, so that Locke can continue to press that button, or did the Dharma organization deliberately arrange it when the plane approached the island, because they knew that the survivors of the plane would stop the time machine on the island? This is also the initial question of being lost. Are the survivors of the air crash destined for the island, or did the Dharma organization carefully plan to let these people come to the island? Or are there both possibilities?
After the plane crash, our survivors came to 1996 in 2004, and their bodies recovered to 1996, so Locke recovered because he was not paralyzed at 1996, and Ross's cancer also recovered.
1996 (island time)
The first two seasons of "Lost" took place in the period when time stopped. Locke found the underground workstation and stopped pressing the button, which was equivalent to stopping the time machine to continue working, so Desmond started the safety device. As a result, the safety device destroyed the whole time machine, and then the time on the island began to run normally instead of stopping before. In fact, the real function of the safety device is to reset the time to the initial value, that is, 1996. The time on the island now is about 8-9 years later than in the present world. When Desmond started the device with the key, his life flashed before his eyes, and he lived for another nine years. He saw Charlie's death, he saw him start his life again after he left the island, met Penny, and then many things happened and finally came to the island, back to 1996, and then began the cycle of the story for nine years.
Desmond can't escape his fate. Desmond wants to live for another nine years because he is the person who turns the key, or he is in the heart of the time machine, so he has the ability to see his past life, which is why he can foresee Charlie's death. Who knows how many more nine years Desmond lived? Every time he was alive, he could see how Charlie sent the signal out of the island and how the survivors of the plane crash left the island.
2007 (Today's World)
The wreckage of Dayang 8 15 was found at the bottom of the original world. After the Dharma Initiative and Naomi learned that the plane was missing in 2004, they used the off-island time machine to send Naomi back to 2004. In 2004, Naomi formed a team to find Ben on the island. Her team's task also includes transferring the survivors of the plane crash to a ship at sea in order to find them in 2007.
1996 (island time)
After the survivors destroyed the signal shielding equipment on the island and Desmond successfully helped Charlie complete the task and sent the signal off the island, Jack could use Naomi's equipment to talk to the cargo ship. Her equipment is special equipment specially made by Dharma. This device allows Naomi to talk to Dharma in the past and in the future, and even Saeed can notice how advanced this device is because it is used to talk to different times.
Daniel asked his team to start the load test equipment on the cargo ship to test the special coordinates that allow free access to the island. If the device deviates far from the special coordinates, it may take eight years for his signal to be received by Daniel on the island. In fact, it took Daniel only 3 1 minute to receive the signal sent by this equipment, indicating that they are very close to that special coordinate. As for Naomi's team's motivation, they work for the Dharma Initiative. They are very unhappy. They came to arrest because they wanted to know how the Dharma organization disappeared on the island.
1996 (Desmond's timeline)
Sayid and Desmond successfully left the island. They crossed the time barrier between the island and the present world. In other words, they actually came to 2004 from 1996. Only Desmond has been affected by the change of time, because he has been working in the swan workstation for 3-4 years and has been exposed to high-intensity radiation. When Desmond traveled through time and space and returned to the original timeline 1996, Daniel knew exactly what happened to Desmond, so he called Desmond on the telephone in 2004 and told him to find a constant to save himself. When Desmond met Daniel in 1996, Desmond became Daniel's constant through time and space, which is why when Daniel reread his diary on the island, he found something newly written, the content was "Desmond is his constant". Daniel sent Desmond of 1996 to find him, and it didn't change history. He just wanted to find out how he left the island and returned to 2004.
It's a pity that Daniel, Naomi and other players were selected by Dharma as experimental subjects. We can also see from their memories that they may know Buddhism very well and they can be sacrificed.
As for the man with the same symptoms as Desmond on the cargo ship, he tried to come to the island without special coordinates. As a result, he came to 1996 in 2004, and there was not a constant that allowed his thoughts to cross two timelines. Finally, he died. Therefore, the only way to reach the island is to let human beings cross two timelines normally through special coordinates.
1996 (island time)
After some equipment on the island was destroyed, six survivors were finally able to leave the island: Jack, Kate, Hurley, Aaron, Sun and Said (the list may eventually change). In 2005, the Dharma organization left the island with these six people and returned to the real world, while the rest stayed on the island, that is, 1996. But neither Dharma nor Ben told these six people that they actually lived on the island 1996. The six survivors returned to the present world in 2005, not in 2007 when the wreckage was found, so there were actually six survivors before the wreckage was found.
In 2005, in addition to six survivors, Ben also left the island. Don't forget that Ben returned to 1996 in 2007. After Ben left the island, he used Saeed to help him ensure that things went according to his plan in 2007. We don't know why Sayid helped Ben kill people, but it seems that Sayid wants to kill some people in a specific order in the past seven years to ensure the normal progress of the new timeline. These people he killed should all be members of the dharma initiative. When Ben kills them all, he will destroy the Dharma organization again and take their time machine, so that he can travel through time and space again to 1996, return to the island again and restart the time circulation system.
the year of 2008
Jack lived in a new timeline for 3-4 years after he left the island. He knew that people on the island had been living in 1996 (now it is around 1999), so he decided to do anything to test his fate. He decided to jump off a bridge just to see if fate would save him and if fate wanted him to return to the island. Later, he read in the newspaper that Ben was dead. Maybe this is a very good opportunity to return to the island, assuming that Ben never wanted Jack to return to the island before. It is worth noting that when Jack and other survivors lived on the island, they didn't know that they had traveled through time and lived in the past, but they were still alive to test their fate. In fact, they should have died in the crash of Dayang 8 15 a few years ago.
The play may end with whether the survivors can overcome the impossible obstacles to control their own destiny according to their own wishes, and what is this obstacle? Only time will tell.
