Turquoise is an ancient jade, named for its color and green pine cone shape. Also known as Turkish jade, it enjoys a high reputation in the world. It is called "Eastern Wei disguised as a square emerald" and is one of the rare precious stones in the world. Because it was introduced to European countries through Turkey, it is called "Turkish jade", also known as cherry blossom "Turkic jade".

Turquoise products have become an important collection and a secondary mineral. They are leached from groundwater containing copper, aluminum and phosphorus in early granite, and precipitate in veins near the surface to form nodules, which are wrapped by the matrix of dikes. Turquoise is the earliest mineral variety used as decoration.

Turquoise is delicate and soft in texture, moderate in hardness and charming in color, but quite different in color, hardness and quality. Usually divided into four varieties, namely porcelain pine, pine, bubble (surface) pine and iron pine.

Main producing areas

China is one of the main producers of turquoise. Turquoise is produced in Zhushan County, Yunxi County, Hubei Province, Maanshan, Anhui Province, Baihe, Shaanxi Province, Xichuan, Henan Province, Hami, Xinjiang and Wulan, Qinghai Province. Among them, the high-quality turquoise in Yunxian County, Yunxi County and Zhushan, Hubei Province is a world-famous producing area.

The turquoise on Yungai Mountain is named Yungai Temple turquoise because of Yungai Temple at the top of the mountain. It is the original stone producing area of the world-famous China turquoise sculpture, which enjoys a high reputation in the industry and collectors and sells well at home and abroad. In addition, there are turquoise in Jiangsu and Yunnan.

In Iran, a famous turquoise producing area abroad, porcelain pine and iron pine with the best quality are produced, which is called Persian turquoise. In addition, Egypt, America, Mexico, Afghanistan, India and the former Soviet Union all produce turquoise.
