Since the re-establishment of the Customs in Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province has become the national import and export center of jewelry and jade. During the Daoguang period, six jade production institutions were built successively, each with its own division of labor. For example, Chongauditorium specializes in cutting materials, Kunyutang specializes in jade materials, and Yuxingtang specializes in jade industry and selling stalls. From 1929 to 1936, Guangzhou Yuzhuo has more than 10,000 employees in the six major suits. Since the 1950s, there has been a new development of jade articles in Guangzhou, including jewelry, utensils, flowers and birds, animals, especially jewelry and three-dimensional decorative ornaments. Fish cages, shrimp cages, crab cages and pagodas are exquisitely carved and full of interest. The jade balls are carved in layers, and each layer of jade balls can be rotated, with fine skills and unique style. The 18-storey jade-repaired double lion ball produced by Southern Jade Carving Factory won the 1978 Science and Technology Conference Award, and the 14-storey Dunhuang Flying Buddha Ball Tower is collected in China Arts and Crafts Museum. Guangzhou Jade Market: There is a street in Guangzhou that specializes in selling jade jewelry. It is called "Hualin Jade Street". It is located in the bustling business district of Xiguan, Guangzhou. Hundreds of jade shops and trucks line up on both sides of the street, stretching from Xiajiu Road to changshou road 1000 meters. Merchants from all walks of life gather here, and customers are like clouds. In Hualin Jade Street, there are many jade shops. Most of them buy and sell jade articles, mainly wholesale but also retail. There are many kinds, including ring faces, jade bracelets, flower cards, ancient jade, and exquisite jade ornaments made by sculptors. Visitors who have been to Guangzhou Emerald Street are amazed at its scale and commercial prosperity.
Sihui Jade Market: Sihui City, Guangdong Province has no jade resources. To buy jade, you need to go all the way to the border trade market on the border between China and Myanmar, or buy Nanyang jade from Henan, or import Australian jade, mainly Burmese jade. Small jade workshops are scattered in all districts and towns of Sihui City. In an alley 500 meters east of Sihui City, there are more than 500 jade shops, forming the world-famous sihui jade Street. It consists of three plates: Emerald Street, emerald city and Sky Market. Street is a row of small jade shops, each with an area of only 10 to 20 square meters. "City" is a multi-storey building, with a jade shop on the ground floor and a shopkeeper's house upstairs, and some jade processing factories are among them. The most unique of the three plates is the skylight market, which is a jade stall market of farmer's market type. It is bustling at 3 am every day and closes at around 7 am. Business hours are from dawn to dawn, so it is called skylight market. Every day, more than 200 booths gather at the edge of Maguo Park, which is close to Emerald Street and emerald city, doing jade business. Most of the people who come to the consignment arrive at the Fourth Meeting overnight and come to the skylight market for trading in the morning. After the purchase, they can get on the bus nearby, and they can reach Guangzhou more than 60 kilometers away in just over an hour, and they can resell the wholesale jade on the same day.
Yangmei Jade Market: Yangmei Village, located in the west of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, is known as the "hometown of golden jade". Since 1905, villagers have been engaged in jade processing, production and trade for nearly a hundred years. So far, there are more than 400 large and small jade processing trade in the village, which is equivalent to nearly 80% of the total number of 550 households in the village. The number of people specializing in jade processing trade has reached 1500, accounting for 60% of the total population of the village. From 65438 to 0997, the jade processing trade volume in the village exceeded 1 100 million yuan. Today, Yangmei Village has more than 3,000 sets of advanced processing and production equipment such as large-scale chain saw jade machine, medium-sized clamping polishing machine and small engraving machine, and has a large number of jade carving traders. Pingzhou Jade Market: Pingzhou is an urban area in the east of Nanhai City, Guangdong Province. Jade processing in Pingzhou began in 1930s. At that time, there was a famous jade family in Pingdong area of Pingzhou, and many Pingdong people mastered jade processing skills. After the reform and opening up, Pingtung Village developed village-run enterprises, and Guangzhou Southern Jade Carving Factory helped Pingtung people to process and produce jade articles. Because of the good benefits of jade products, the number of villages dealing in jade products gradually increased, and then blossomed everywhere. At present, there are more than 350 households engaged in the jade industry in Pingdong Village, which are basically family workshops. There are many people in the front shop and the back factory, and there is a market for jade centralized management. The characteristic product of Pingzhou jade is jade bracelet, which accounts for 60% to 70% of the total production and sales of jade. It can be described as the hometown of jade bracelets. The value of jade bracelets is usually very high, and the annual turnover of jade in Pingzhou exceeds 1 100 million yuan. Every day, nearly a thousand businessmen in Pingzhou buy jade bracelets and other jade articles. Pingzhou has become a large-scale jade bracelet market in China.
