What gift list is this? It says 40 tons of gold, platinum 12 tons, 40 boxes of jewelry and cultural relics, 3,000 tons of tin ingots, 3,000 tons of rubber and thousands of tons of rice. The most special thing is that there are more than 2000 Japanese bones. According to the valuation at that time, it was worth more than $5 billion, which was a great gift at any time. Is it true that the United States gave China a gift?
Strictly speaking, the gift list was not sent by Nixon himself, but an invaluable document that China people need to obtain by themselves? Are there many question marks in your head when you hear this? Listen, I'll come to you slowly.
"Apomaru" is a 10,000-ton passenger and cargo ship in Japan. On the eve of the imminent failure of the war of aggression launched by Japan, 40 tons of gold, 20 tons of platinum and other military supplies were loaded from Singapore occupied by the Japanese army, and more than 2,000 Southeast Asian military and political dignitaries, diplomatic officials and Japanese family members were carried, flying the flag of the International Red Cross and sailing back to Japan. [ 1]
1 in the early morning of April, 19451,Apomaru was found by submarines such as American Queen Fish patrolling the waters east of Niushan Island in Pingtan County, Fujian Province. The American submarine issued warning signals several times to stop the ship for inspection, but the Apomaru ignored the warning and still sailed at high speed, and the submarine queen immediately fished. After the Apomaru was hit, it sank to the bottom of the sea within two minutes, and all the people on board died except one.
As the Apomaru sank in China, according to international maritime regulations, the sunken Apomaru belongs to China's sovereignty. Without the approval of our government, no country or individual may enter our territorial waters for salvage operations, and only our government has the right to salvage the Apomaru. 1973 in the first half of the year, a Japanese government delegation visited China's Ministry of Communications and raised the golden incident on the sunken Apomaru with the Ministry of Communications. Later, the matter was shelved for various reasons. [ 1]
1in August, 976, Peng Deqing, then vice minister of communications, informed Liu Daosheng, then deputy commander of the navy, about the Japanese offering of the Apomaru. Liu Daosheng attaches great importance to this. After returning to Beijing, he immediately instructed the Defense and Rescue Department of the Navy Command to put forward the idea of jointly salvaging the sunken Apomaru by the navy and the Ministry of Communications.
From 1978 to 1980.
In the salvage operation for more than three years, the officers and men of the navy and the staff of the Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Communications have made encouraging achievements. More than 600 divers participated in underwater operations. On average, each ship worked for 332 days, dived 3,604 times, cut 2,379.1m2 underwater, blasted 650 times underwater, and picked up materials such as tin ingots, rubber, mercury, niobium and tantalum, mica and actinic glass.
But unfortunately, in more than three years of salvage operations, no treasure storage place was found, and no gold or two was found.
Maybe there is no gold on the ship, or it may fall into the sea we don't know. Maybe history will give us the answer.
