Niu Longfei's Records and Research on the General History of Dunhuang Mural Music (Dunhuang Literature and Art Publishing House) is the first book about the materials and works about Dunhuang ancient music, which records and studies almost all the musical historical materials in Dunhuang murals in detail. According to the book, there are 54 kinds of musical instruments in Dunhuang murals, including guqin, zither, flute, sheng and flute, 4 kinds of pipa, 3 kinds of violin, 3 kinds of wind instruments and 0/7 kinds of drum/kloc. According to the incomplete statistics in this book, these musical instruments were used in murals for 4095 times, and pipa 74 1, sheng 293, hairpin 347 and flute 4 10 were drawn. There are 6 caves with 100 musical instruments. For example, in Cave 6 1 in the Five Dynasties, there are 10 kinds of paintings, 67 groups of music and dance styles, 2 1 musical instruments and 182 pieces. Among them, there are 8 paintings of guqin, 24 pipa, flute 10, flute 1 1, 27 cymbals, flute 2 1 and 38 strings of clappers. It's really radiant and the scenery is magnificent.
