The lack of industry standards and inadequate supervision have led to chaos in the amber beeswax collection market. All kinds of fake and shoddy amber ornaments are rampant in jewelry exhibitions, Wan Wen markets, WeChat merchants' online stores and other places. What's more, at the same time of amber fraud, an authoritative appraisal institution can issue an appraisal certificate for counterfeit amber beeswax. Today, we will talk about how to identify the authenticity of amber beeswax through the identification certificate.
First, the elements of amber beeswax identification certificate.
1, look at the certification mark.
Don't bother, in fact, just a few common signs, it will be meaningful to write them down carefully at the critical time.
Common certification marks in the certification certificate include CMA (or MA), CAL, CNAS, ILAC-MRA, GIA, etc. The qualifications obtained by each appraisal institution are different, and the certificates issued are also different accordingly. CMA or MA is the most basic symbol of our domestic appraisal institution, and the certificate with the words CMA or MA indicates that the institution is a national legal appraisal institution. On the premise of obtaining CMA certification, CAL indicates that the institution has obtained the authorization certificate examined and approved by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration Committee or the quality and technical supervision departments of various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in the region. CNAS indicates that it has been accredited by the National Accreditation Committee. ILAC-MRA is an international certification mark, and certificates with this mark can be recognized in many countries in the world. GIA is the abbreviation and standard of American Gemological Society, and the GIA appraisal certificate has high credibility in the industry.
2. Look at the steel seal.
However, the special seal for identification in the certificate issued by the authoritative organization must be clearly visible steel seal.
3. Look at the name.
(1) In the current national standard of jewelry and jade names, amber is the only name of amber gemstone, and there are no other names such as beeswax, Lanpo and Jin Po. So all certificates except amber are fake amber identification certificates.
(2) Natural amber only means amber, which is not natural. All certificates with the word "natural amber" are false certificates.
(3) The identification results show that all treated, pressed or pressed amber and amber imitations are not natural amber.
(4) The optimized methods, such as flower bursting, pressing and baking, conform to the amber identification standard, and are not fake, but are equivalent to natural amber in identification.
Step 4 look at the place of origin
At present, the current national standard for jewelry and jade names clearly stipulates that the place of origin does not participate in naming, and all certificates indicating the place of origin are false certificates, such as "Dominican amber" and "Baltic amber".
Two, the three major domestic jewelry and jade appraisal institutions.
Amber identification certificate must be marked with CMA. Never buy amber beeswax in tourist attractions, and try not to buy it in stalls. At present, the certificates issued by the three major domestic appraisal institutions can be inquired in official website.
At present, there are three reliable appraisal institutions in China: Jewelry Testing Center of China Geo University, National Jewelry and Jade Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of China, and Gem Appraisal Center of Peking University.
Among the certificates issued by the above three appraisal institutions, both the appraiser and the person in charge of the audit are handwritten signatures, all of which are marked with CMA, CNAS and ILAC-MRA. Enter the certificate number and you can find it in official website.
