How much is the diamond appraisal?
Diamonds are relatively precious and expensive. Some unscrupulous businessmen in the market will use fake diamonds to make up the numbers and get away with it. In order to prevent being cheated, consumers must know about diamond identification. Today, let's find out how much it costs to identify diamonds.

1. How much is the diamond appraisal?

There is no exact amount of money for diamond appraisal. It is worth noting that the authority of appraisal and the cost of diamond appraisal will vary greatly among different appraisal institutions. At present, there are two recognized diamond appraisal institutions in China:

1, NGTC National Jewelry Quality Supervision and Inspection Center

NGTC is a state-level professional quality inspection organization for jewelry and jade authorized by AQSIQ, and it is the only partner of GIA in Chinese mainland. Generally speaking, tens of dollars can be used to identify diamonds.

2. GIA, American Jewelry Association

GIA is the most authoritative diamond appraisal institution in the world, which founded the diamond 4C standard and has been widely used. Moreover, it is also a non-profit organization, and the GIA diamond appraisal certificate issued by it has high credibility. Generally speaking, 70 yuan can identify diamonds below 1 carat, and the bigger the diamond, the higher the identification cost.

Second, the diamond identification method

In addition to finding an authoritative diamond appraisal agency, you can also use these seven methods to identify.

1, pencil recognition

After wetting the diamond with water, draw it with a pencil. The surface of real diamond will not leave pencil marks, while transparent fake diamonds such as crystal, glass and tourmaline will leave marks.

2. Pen recognition

Draw a line on the diamond table with a special pen or ballpoint pen with oily ink, and an uninterrupted straight line will be left. However, other imitations are not lipophilic, leaving intermittent dotted lines at the scribe line.

3, tool identification

Diamond is so hard that it is difficult to leave a notch on it with a blade or something. In addition, a slight scratch on the glass with diamonds will leave obvious white marks, while fake diamonds do not.

4. Didi recognition

Wipe the top surface of the diamond and dip a toothpick in a drop of water. The water drops on the real diamond will show a moderate small circle, and the water drops on the fake diamond will spread out quickly.

5, white paper identification

Draw a black line on white paper and put the diamond table on this line. If you can't see the line, it means that the diamond is real, and if you can see it, it is fake.

6, water droplet identification

Drop a drop of water on the diamond. If the water droplets remain spherical for a long time, it means that the diamond is real, while if the water droplets disperse in a relatively short time, it is an imitation.

7. Fingerprint recognition

Real diamonds have the characteristics of single refraction, radiant and dazzling, but you can't see the lines on your hands. Fake diamonds, such as crystals, have poor dispersion and low refractive index, and fingerprints can be seen through the crystals.

After mastering the appraisal method and price of diamonds, consumers don't have to be afraid of being cheated, leaving those unscrupulous businessmen with no place to cheat.
