Mangshi and Ruili are both located in Yunnan Province, China, but their relative positions are different.

Ruili City is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, adjacent to Myanmar, and is a border city on the border of China. It is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, near the southwest border of Yunnan Province.

Mangshi (also known as mangshi County) is a county-level city in Dehong Prefecture, located in the center of Dai Street in the west of Yunnan Province. Although it is also close to the southwest border of Yunnan Province, it is slightly far from the west of Yunnan Province compared with Ruili City.

So geographically speaking, Ruili is closer to the west.
