Be careful when buying jewelry during the May Day Golden Week. Official invoices and appraisal certificates are as indispensable as others.
The May Day holiday is approaching, and the National Jewelry and Jade Quality Supervision and Inspection Center reminds consumers not to covet cheap jewelry during travel, but to buy it in regular shopping malls and franchise stores, and pay attention to obtaining invoices, logos, identification certificates and other relevant documents. The invoice should indicate the detailed name of the jewelry purchased for after-sales service and rights protection.
The testing center also reminds consumers to be cautious when buying jewelry during travel, and avoid blind impulse. Attention should be paid to identifying whether the purchased jewelry has an appraisal certificate issued by an authoritative organization. The appraisal certificate issued by the quality inspection organization authorized by the state will bear the authorization marks of "CAL" and "CMA", but the certificate issued by the non-authorized organization does not have such marks.
The person in charge of the National Jewelry and Jade Quality Supervision and Inspection Center said that in March this year, the center launched a free testing activity for ordinary consumers. Among the 360 samples submitted for inspection, 96 samples have problems such as confusing the real with the fake, shoddy and irregular naming, which is higher than in previous years. Among them, 58 pieces came from domestic or overseas tourist spots, Zhuhai, Hainan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guilin and other places, as well as Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
It is understood that in recent years, the relevant state departments have strengthened market management, and jewelry enterprises have gradually realized the importance of brands to the development of enterprises. Therefore, the mainstream jewelry market has become increasingly standardized, and jewelry purchased in large shopping malls and regular franchise stores rarely has quality problems. At the same time, the maturity of consumers has also become an important factor to promote market regulation. In the process of buying jewelry, many consumers also know to ask the merchants for the jewelry appraisal certificate issued by the authoritative department. At present, the problems in the jewelry and jade market are mainly in the tourism jewelry market and the goods sold by some private jewelry stores.
The inspection center found three problems after investigation, 1. A considerable proportion of bills are not formal tax invoices, but ordinary sales receipts. Some invoices (receipts) only give the commodity number in the commodity name column, but there is no commodity name. Some do not have a special financial seal for the sales unit. The irregular issuance of invoices is very unfavorable for consumers to protect their rights in the future. Once the goods are found to have quality problems, it is difficult to recover the losses. 2. Jewelry purchased overseas, some of which are explained in English. But the problem is that merchants use most consumers who don't understand English and instructions to lure them, so that consumers are deceived. However, some English descriptions are vague, and even if consumers can understand English, they can't fully understand the meaning because they don't know the special products. 3. Some consumers have appraisal certificates when buying jewelry, but they are not issued by national authorities, but only by the sales company itself. For consumers who lack professional knowledge of jewelry, if such certificates can't provide accurate information, consumers will be easily deceived.
