When it comes to the development of palladium ornaments, we must first analyze some international situations of palladium.
From 2009 to 20 12 (forecast), the global supply and demand of palladium showed an upward trend (table 1), but due to the influence of the whole environment, the overall demand for palladium in jewelry showed a downward trend (table 2). China, as the largest consumer of palladium ornaments, has a large base, which leads to obvious value changes. However, with the maturity of consumers' jewelry consumption concept, factors such as fashion, personality, design sense and high cost performance will be considered more comprehensively in jewelry selection, and palladium has perfect physical characteristics such as density and reasonable price, which is a white precious metal jewelry that can better meet consumers' needs. Therefore, the demand for palladium in jewelry will also increase.

According to the latest data of Platinum and Palladium Yearbook 20 12 published by GFMS Company of Thomson Reuters, the total palladium shortage appeared at 20 1 1 for the fifth consecutive year, and it is expected that this situation will get worse, which is largely driven by the increasing demand for catalysts for automobile exhaust purification. 20 1 1 year, the demand of palladium as an automobile catalyst reaches 172 tons, almost four times that of platinum. In recent years, investors' support for palladium is likely to lead to the price of palladium and platinum getting closer and closer with time. As far as the application of palladium in jewelry field is concerned, it is worth mentioning that the palladium manufacturing industry in Europe is growing at a strong momentum of 8%, which is double that of ten years ago (Figure 2). The growth mainly comes from wedding rings, and the high cost performance of palladium is very attractive. At the same time, the perfect density of palladium also magnifies the price difference with other jewelry of the same size. Therefore, palladium jewelry is promising.
As far as the work of the International Palladium Association is concerned, at present, the Association has invested considerable energy in Japanese, American and China markets.
On March 20 12, the association set up an office in Japan and officially promoted palladium ornaments in Japan. Now the Japanese market has just started and is still in its infancy, so the association focuses on two major areas: first, providing production technical support and palladium-related knowledge to the industry; Second, educate consumers about palladium.
In fact, before the association entered Japan, there were already brand enterprises in Japan making and selling palladium ornaments, mainly wedding rings and matching rings. These two categories are also a mainstream of Japanese jewelry sales. It is precisely because of this situation that the association has provided the latest information on palladium production to relevant enterprises, so that they can further master the production technology of palladium. The Association admits that compared with other precious metal trade associations, there are not many production, wholesale and retail enterprises that have participated in our association in the past six years, but they have been growing continuously. The prospect of China market is very broad.
China is the birthplace of palladium jewelry in the new century. Palladium jewelry has laid a solid foundation for development in China, a huge market with great characteristics and advantages. Different from the American market, a major feature of palladium ornaments in China is that palladium products occupy a large share. At the same time, the unremitting efforts of China manufacturers have also promoted the healthy development of palladium ornaments. The association cooperated with many famous American designers and launched many representative products.
