Tissot POWERMATIC 80 is a Swiss-made self-winding machine with 23-25 jewelry movements. It can be found in various Tissot models and is based on ETA movement C07 series, which itself is based on the legendary ETA movement 2824-2. The movement was released at the 20 12 Basel International Watch and Jewelry Exhibition.
This movement enjoys the reputation of high power reserve of 80 hours. In contrast, the standard ETA 2824-2 has a rated power reserve of about 38 hours when fully wound. Combining with a more effective clockwork and reducing the frequency from 4Hz to 3Hz, a power reserve of 80 can be obtained. This means that the pulse speed of PM80 is 2 1 600 bph, while that of 2824-2 is 28800.
Powermatic 80 is not equipped with ETAChron or other types of regulating system. Similar to Sistem5 1, the Powermatic 80 laser has been adjusted in the factory. This is what Tissot calls a "high-tech escapement". This does not necessarily mean that the movement cannot be adjusted or maintained, but we hope to find a movement or watchmaker in need. For hardcore mechanical watch lovers, it is worth considering before spending more than $65,438+0,000 on two-color Tissot luxury goods.
