It takes about 20 to 30 days for ornamental shrimp to produce shrimp after hatching eggs. Usually, female shrimps need to be shelled 1 time before mating and reproduction. If the mating time is too early, the eggs will be immature, and if it is too late, the eggs will age. You must not catch them during mating, so that the mother shrimp can reproduce with the eggs.
Before breeding in ornamental shrimp, it is necessary to adjust the water quality, keep the ph at about 6.5, and control the hardness of water at about 4 ~ 8 to ensure the stability of nitrification system.
Matters needing attention in ornamental shrimp aquaculture
1, Pay attention to water quality: If ornamental shrimp wants to breed, it must first ensure good water quality, which is very important for the mother shrimp to hold eggs and the growth of shrimp fry. Generally, the water in the water tank needs soft water with hardness less than 8, and pure water, rain water or snow water can also be used, but in order to avoid these water being polluted, it is best to choose distilled water or neutral water.
2. Adjust the water temperature: During the breeding period in ornamental shrimp, the water temperature should also be adjusted, which is 1-2℃ higher than the normal breeding period. Usually, the temperature should be kept at around 25℃, which is helpful for hatching eggs. It should be noted that the lower the water temperature, the higher the dissolved oxygen in the water, which is helpful for the survival of shrimp. If it exceeds 28℃, it will cause the mother shrimp to fail to lay eggs.
3. Nutrition supplement: In order to ensure that the mother shrimp can lay eggs smoothly, it is necessary to supplement certain nutrition. Usually shrimp food must contain vitamins and minerals, which can improve the quality of holding eggs and make them produce more eggs.
