Animated Saber's sword is in the holy grail (like some knights of the round table)
Just like I played Ghost Warrior, I will read the history of the Warring States in Japan, and I want to review the history of the Three Kingdoms after reading Riding a Thousand Miles. Although games and comics can't make any contribution to historical materials, and sometimes they are even a distortion, it is my interest to study history, geography and humanities through their opportunities. This is the original intention of writing this article: through the description of Saber's "Altolia" in fate line, combined with the legend of King Arthur in reality, I hope everyone can understand the legendary career of King Arthur.

Due to the limitation of energy, some places and events can't be verified in detail, so it can be regarded as storytelling.

(i) Artorius (King Arthur) Tolis (King Arthur)

(1) Legend

King Arthur in Destiny/Sleeping Night

"Altoria.

The girl who just passed the bar mitzvah was called that in China that day.

It was a time of war.

The beginning of the war is the demise of an empire.

It was supposed to be an invincible empire, waiting to die under the invasion of many pagans.

In order to crack down on pagans, the empire transferred troops that had been guarding an island country.

This is the beginning.

After her country lost the protection of the empire and could not continue to be independent, it quickly split into small kingdoms.

An attack by pagans

Between tribes, it can be said that it is a suicidal infighting.

After that, there is a long campaign period called "the sun is as dark as the night"

Just then, she was born as the heir to the king. "

—— Excerpt from fate line 1 1 day.

King Arthur's real name is not Atholia. This is based on "ァルトリァ" written by Naisu きのこ), but it is another name-Artorius (sound "Tolis"). On the other hand, perhaps based on Artorius, Naisu created the name Artorius by referring to female names such as Maria and Victoria. Some scholars believe that "Artorius" is the name of a Roman clan, representing the Roman descent of King Arthur. Another way of saying that "Artorius" comes from the Celtic words "artos" and "viros" (bear, man) of the ancient English aborigines, meaning "bearded man". However, personally, there were no razors and things like that in those days, and men with beards must be everywhere, so "beards" should not be allowed. ...

Although Saber, with golden hair, silvery voice and bright green eyes, gave people too much room for fantasy, Tolis was fostered in childhood not because "even if there is a king's fate, a boy can't inherit the throne". On the contrary, it is precisely because Tolis is destined to be the king of England that his father King Uther Pendragon (pronounced "Uther Pandagan", that is, Uther Pendragon) needs adoption to protect him.

Tolis is the illegitimate child of his father Uther Pendragon. Before that, the child in Uther Pendragon's main house was a girl. As mentioned in Destiny, this girl is King Arthur's half-sister Morgan (sound "Morgan") and the biological mother of knight Mordred (sound "Mordred"). These will be detailed later.

King Wu Seer and Merlin and Tolis are holding the baby.

In a word, as the only male heir in the family, Tolis is unfortunately an illegitimate child. Although the throne must be inherited by men, the identity of illegitimate children will inevitably be criticized and even hurt. Therefore, Uther Pendragon listened to the magician Merlin's suggestion and put Tolis in the foster care of ordinary nobles. Even the nobles of foster families don't know the true identity of Tolis, and neither does Tolis himself.

Then one day, Uther Pendragon died, and the domestic situation began to turmoil. At Merlin's suggestion, the Bishop summoned all the noble knights and elected the new king of Britain with a sword in the stone. However, no one can pull the sword out of the rock. For lack of a better way, the knights unanimously decided to choose the king through competition. Tolis also went, but he was not qualified for the tournament. The son of the foster family, Kai (pronounced "Kai" and later became one of the knights of the Round Table), participated in the war on behalf of the family. However, when Kay entered the meeting, she found that she had forgotten her sword, so she asked Tolis to go home and get it. Tolis hurried home and found the door locked. Everyone went to watch the tournament. It's not hard to imagine what happened afterwards. Tolis didn't have time to return to the arena to get the key, so he ran to the front of the church, pulled out the sword in the stone and gave it to Kay, which surprised everyone. Everyone put the sword back into the stone suspiciously, but even though it was repeated many times, no one could pull it out except Tolis. Thus, the knights finally accepted the new king. From this day on, Tolis was honored as King Arthur.

Because no one knows that this boy is the heir of Uther Pendragon, even if some knights don't want to, they still have to believe that he is the king of Britain given by God. Tolis, who lived in a foreign land since childhood, finally got the reward of his efforts.

Tolis pulled out the sword in the stone in the surprised eyes of all.

Shortly after he ascended the throne, King Arthur married Queen Guinevere (Guinevere), and as a dowry, the Queen's father gave King Arthur the famous round table. But like his father Uther Pendragon, King Arthur had an illegitimate child. More boldly than his father, his cheating partner turned out to be his half-sister Morgan. King Arthur and this child are both uncles and fathers and sons, and this illegitimate child is Mordred who later rebelled.

King Arthur married Queen Guinevere.

During the reign of King Arthur, Britain ushered in unprecedented unity and strength. He helped the poor and established a prosperous kingdom. It was at this time that chivalry and the earliest code of conduct for chivalry were formed. He got the sword from Huxian, and finally successfully repelled the Saxon invasion from the north through twelve battles. During this period, the Knights of the Round Table became an important part of the kingdom. Legend has it that King Arthur's knights reached one hundred and fifty at most, and the knights charged on the battlefield and discussed domestic affairs at the round table. Although they will also form some factions because of the coincidence or inconsistency of political views, there is no difference between status and monarch and minister at the round table, allowing everyone to speak freely. Many legendary stories happened on this legendary round table, including the search for the Holy Grail.

King Arthur got the Excalibur under the guidance of Merlin.

As time went on, King Arthur's territory continued to expand. He ruled France, finally defeated the declining Roman Empire, and was crowned by the Bishop in the Roman Cathedral, which was the most glorious period of arthurian legend's career. After world peace, King Arthur's interest began to shift to finding the legendary treasure. One by one, his knights left the castle to look for the legendary Holy Grail, either on orders or voluntarily, and most of them never came back. In this way, there were fewer knights on the round table and the powerful empire began to decline.

At this time, the extramarital affair between Lancelot, the knight of the Round Table and King Arthur's first knight, and Queen Guinivea was exposed. Lancelot Gallon escaped and Queen Guinevere was burned by King Arthur. However, Lancelot Galen rushed into the execution ground to rescue Guinevere and fled to France to establish his own territory. Although Lancelot-Garonne was later reluctantly returned to Guinevere for fear of reputation damage, King Arthur still sent troops to France, leaving his cousin Calvin Ying and nephew Mordred to manage the kingdom.

Mordred realized that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He rebelled and killed Gavin, wanted to marry (incest again), launched a war against King Arthur, and King Arthur returned to Lee. In this way, in the battle of Kamran, both armies lost their lives.

Battle of kamran

As fate line said, King Arthur finally killed Mordred with his Excalibur. He was fatally hit by Mordred, leaving only a knight Bedivere ("Bedivere") around him. King Arthur asked Bedivere to return the Excalibur to the Lake Demon. Bedivere lied to King Arthur twice in a row, but both failed. Finally, he gritted his teeth and threw the Excalibur into the lake.

King Arthur, who was dying, was taken to Avalon by a fairy (pronounced "Avalon"). It is said that he was finally buried there, and people believe that King Arthur is not dead, and he will come back again to save the world. It is said that this was in 452 AD.

(2) The truth of historical facts

Without discussing the gender of King Arthur, there is a more important premise, that is, whether King Arthur really exists in history. Around 830 AD, Nennius, a Welsh monk, recorded the deeds of King Arthur in his book Historia Brittonum, which is the earliest written record of the legend of King Arthur. Although the place where the ancient Britons resisted the Anglo-Saxons (pronounced "Anglo-Saxon", the West Germanic people who invaded Britain in the 6th century A.D.) was consistent with the legend of King Arthur, and the remains of Camelot (pronounced "Camelot-Garonne Province", the legendary seat of King Arthur's imperial city) were discovered, there was even a round stone table. Unfortunately, however, archaeologists have not found the inscription of King Arthur on any historical sites or any cultural relics.

Historians who disagree believe that, just like Caesar in Rome, Muhammad in Arabia and Genghis Khan in Mongolia, assuming that King Arthur is a great king who has established an independent and powerful British kingdom, it is impossible for such a glorious name not to be passed down to future generations as a cultural relic. Just because there is no objective existence corresponding to King Arthur, the authenticity of the legend of King Arthur is doubtful. But even so, it seems to be a hundred times more difficult to deny the truth of the legendary story of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table that has been circulating for nearly a thousand years than to prove it. The research and controversy about the existence of King Arthur has been going on for hundreds of years, so far no one can give overwhelming evidence.

In his book The Nature of Arthur, O.J. Padel thinks that King Arthur, a figure that has never existed in history, may come from the historical achievements we have discovered, just like The Legend of King Arthur (original: "The historical attributes that we have discovered about King Arthur can be associated with a figure that is not history from the beginning." ). That is, a certain person or a group of people with similar achievements, such as a Celtic chief who led the indigenous people to resist Saxon aggression, provided material for future generations to create the legend of King Arthur. This compromise temporarily reconciled academic contradictions. Today, there are still many scholars and people who are obsessed with the legend of King Arthur and stubbornly look for clues about the legendary king of England in history books and ruins.

(ii) King Uther Pendragon Uther Pan Da.

"It was a long and war-torn era.

The king believed the magician's prophecy and looked forward to an excellent heir.

But the child born is not what the king expected.

That child, not a boy.

Even if you have the fate of a king, you can't inherit the throne without a boy.

The girl was brought up by a retainer and was the child of a knight.

Although the king was disappointed, the magician was satisfied.

Originally, gender has nothing to do with becoming a king.

More importantly, the magician thinks that the fact that the girl must leave the castle before the predicted date is the real trump card. "

—— Excerpt from fate line 1 1 day.

Wu Seer Pan Dagang is King Arthur's father. Generally speaking, he is considered a senior officer in Rome and married a Celtic woman. When the Roman army retreated from England, Pan Dagang did not leave. In view of the fact that after Britain got rid of the rule of the Roman Empire, it still operated according to the system and mode of the Roman Empire for a period of time, then it was probably during this period that Uther Pendragon became the nominal king of Britain.

King Arthur's childhood foster care was not inspired, nor was it because he was a woman, nor was it a magician's prophecy. It's embarrassing to say, but it is such a commander-in-chief who is equivalent to a king, but King Arthur is an illegitimate child born of his adultery with other people's wives. In that turbulent era, a young child may be a victim of power struggle at any time, let alone an illegitimate child. In order to protect the future heir, Uther Pendragon can only give the children to the magician Merlin and foster them in the home of a knight named eckert ("eckert" for short).

(iii) Meilin Meilin

Standing in front of that stone, what is the girl thinking?

When I came to my senses, I noticed a magician I had never seen before standing behind me.

"Before you pull out that sword, you'd better really think about it."

He said, I won't lie to you. Don't do that.

"After pulling out that sword, you are no longer a person."

He also said that as long as he got the sword, he would be hated and die miserably.

She can't be afraid.

After all, the magician did show it to her.

See what the end will be like after she pulls out that sword.

"-no"

However, this made the girl determined.

Even when she saw her future, she nodded hard.

The magician asked, is this good?

"-there are many people laughing. I don't think this can be wrong. "

Her hand was on the sword.

The magician seemed to turn around in confusion.

"Miracles need a price. In exchange, it should be your most important thing. "

Left a prophetic word.

-from "the thirteenth day of fate line".

Merlin means "Falcon" in English. According to legend, Merlin is a profound magician, and his image can be associated with Gandalf, the wizard in gray robe, whom we saw in The Lord of the Rings today. However, in the legend of Arthur dynasty, Merlin appeared in front of people as a counselor and prophet.

It was Merlin who predicted that Tolis would become the king of England, and offered a plan to King Wu Seer to help Tolis out. Similarly, after Uther Pendragon's death, Merlin suggested to the Bishop that noble knights from all over the country should be called to London for a prayer ceremony at Christmas. The sword in the stone appeared in the ceremony, and all the knights couldn't pull out the hilt, only Tolis succeeded. Presumably, this is just a play directed and performed by Merlin: the sword in the stone chosen by God as the king of England is also a sword that only Tolis can pull out. Declaring Tolis king in the name of God is a very simple and efficient plan. No one knows that Tolis is the heir of Uther Pendragon. Everyone thinks that God chose their King Arthur. Merlin's outstanding wisdom and magic finally enabled King Arthur to successfully take over his father's throne.

Merlin fell in love with the fairy in the lake.

After King Arthur succeeded to the throne, Merlin still tried his best to assist him, but the ending was quite dramatic. Legend has it that Merlin left King Arthur because he fell in love with Nimue (transliteration "Miao Yi") and Lake Fairy Vivian (that is, the Lake Fairy who gave King Arthur the sword, he was one of Nineveh, Nimue and Ninian), but Miao Yi was not moved by the old man. Because Merlin is proficient in magic, the fairy forced him to swear, "Don't use magic on yourself" before traveling with him. On the way, the fairy tried her best to get rid of Merlin, but Merlin followed her infatuated. Finally, the restless fairy tricked Merlin into performing the magic of wearing a stone and sealed the stone when he entered. Merlin kept his oath and didn't use magic on himself, so he was trapped in the rock forever.

Merlin was tricked into the rock.

(4) Sword in the Stone

"Then, the day of prophecy came.

In order to elect a king, the king summoned nobles and knights from all over the country.

Everyone suspects that since the most suitable person is chosen as king, it must be a war soon.

However, only a sword inserted in a stone was prepared at the meeting place.

The handle is engraved with gold.

"Whoever pulls this sword out of the rock is the king at the top-"

Many knights seized the sword according to this inscription.

But no one could pull it out, so the knights began to choose the king by fighting at once as originally prepared.

At that time, the girl was just a knight backup, and she was not qualified to fight immediately.

The girl approached the surrounding barren rocks and reached for the hilt without hesitation.

The sword was naturally pulled out, and there was light all around. "

—— Excerpt from fate line 1 1 day.

A symbol of the status of the British king. There is an inscription on the sword: whoever can pull this sword out of the stone platform is the king of fate in England (original: "whoever pulls this sword out of this stone is the stupid king of all England").

Although Sword in the Stone and Excalibur are confused in many places, Destiny clearly shows that they are not the same object: Shiro projects the sword in Sword in the Stone, while Saber holds the Excalibur. Actually, it's really different The sword in the stone is the "sword of fate" used by the chosen king. Although it is very powerful in fate and can kill Hercules Berserker seven times in an instant, it is actually just a thin sword as a symbol of kingship. On the other hand, the complex ornamentation on the sword does not meet the needs of combat, so its function is to show power and status. Besides, the sword in the stone itself is a trick. ...

(5) Excalibur and Avalon swore victory sword and utopia.

Here is the translation of fate. Of course, Excalibur itself has no clear literal meaning. Legend has it that King Arthur got this sword from Vivian, a fairy in the lake, under the guidance of Merlin. With it, King Arthur can be invincible. The scabbard of Excalibur is not called Avalon. As a part of Excalibur, it has no other name. It is said that as long as he wears a sheath, King Arthur will not bleed or get hurt.

As for Avalon, it can indeed be called the "ideal hometown", which is the secret place where King Arthur went after being fatally wounded in the Battle of kamran. Avalon literally means "Apple Island", which is also translated into "Dragonfly Valley" in some materials, probably because it is said that King Arthur was finally buried there.

In fate, Excalibur no longer represents the specific name of the sword (Saber's sword seems to be called Huang Jinjian), it is just the name of Saber's equipment, similar to moves.

(6) Arthur's 12 campaign.

"-after that.

It began to be called the legendary era of kings by later generations.

The war of the newly enthroned king is like the war of the army god.

Wang often stands in the front line.

The enemy is invincible.

God of war. Altolia

The king, known as the incarnation of the dragon, is invincible.

Ten years of battlefield and twelve wars all ended in her victory.

This is an era of concentration and galloping like a king.

She didn't look back once, and she wasn't hurt once.

She grew up to be a king and fulfilled her obligations. "

—— Excerpt from fate line 1 1 day.

Around 400 AD, the declining Roman Empire withdrew from Britain to resist the invasion of Gaul. The ruling mode of the Roman Empire lasted only a short time, and then local tribes began to compete for political power frequently. At this time, the Anglo-Saxons in Scotland began to invade from the north and gradually occupied a large area of land in Wales and England. Legend has it that after King Arthur ascended the throne, he fought against the Saxons for twelve times, and finally stopped the Saxons from continuing to invade.

These twelve battles involved many ancient place names. Due to limited energy, I didn't research the names of these place names today, but attached their old names, and interested friends can check the information according to them.

The first battle was at the mouth of the Gleny River (Gleny River);

The second, third, fourth and fifth battles took place in the Docrates River in Linuis region;

The sixth battle was in the Bassas River (Bassas

The seventh battle was in Wood Selden (Selden Forest);

The eighth battle took place near gueugnon Castle. It is said that King Arthur was blessed by Jesus and the Virgin Mary in this battle, which not only repelled the Saxons, but also hunted them all day.

The ninth battle was in Legion City.

The tenth battle was on the banks of the reuter River in Tratru;

The eleventh battle was in Breguoin (Breguoin)

The tenth and final world war, also mentioned in Mount Baton and Destiny, was the Battle of Mount Barton. According to legend, King Arthur killed 940 enemies with Excalibur in this battle, and the Saxons were completely defeated. After years of war, Britain finally ushered in peace.

(7) Knights and chivalry of the Round Table Knights and Chivalry of the Round Table.

The symbol of the knight of the round table

"... time has been flowing.

Among them, only one thing is * * *

Whether on the throne.

Still in a desperate situation

Or on the battlefield

No one has spoken to her.

Even the magnificent round table of knights telling their respective merits became silent at the moment when the king appeared. "

-from "the thirteenth day of fate line".

Knights of the Round Table almost became the most representative symbol of Arthur's dynasty. Legend has it that when King Arthur married Queen Guinevere, the Queen's father and father-in-law gave him a huge round table, which could seat 150 people at the same time. Originally, it was a round table, which had no more features except surprisingly large, but King Arthur carried it forward.

When King Arthur and his knights talked about state affairs, they sat around the round table. There was no distinction between high and low, and there was no distinction between king and knight. Knights of different colors, races and regions express their opinions on an equal footing and become partners. It is conceivable that it is a great honor to speak at such a big round table, but it is also a test of my voice. ...

Knights have their own unique coat of arms, which not only symbolizes the identity of knights, but also marks their differences on the battlefield. The patterns on these arms are carefully selected, either from legends related to knights or reflecting the knight's personality characteristics. The following are the arms of several knights mentioned or to be mentioned in this article, and their Chinese translations will appear in the corresponding places in this article.

King Arthur (King Arthur)

Sir Lancelot (Lancelot)

Sir Gawaine

Sir Kay (Kay)

Sir bolles.

Sir percival.

Sir galahad (galahad)

Sir Bedivere (Bedivere)

Anyway, the round table is a symbol of equality and the world. King Arthur has never been alienated by his knights on this round table. Even when Lancelot Garonne's affair with Queen Guinevere became the topic of discussion at the round table, many knights still paid more attention to Arthur Wang Zhongcheng. It is also on this round table that King Arthur and his knights of the round table formulated the original principles of chivalry: courage, loyalty and self-control, loyalty to the monarch, humility to the weak, charity to the poor and courtesy to women. This is the chivalrous spirit praised by later generations.

However, people doubt whether this legendary round table really existed. In today's Caerleon-people think it may be the seat of Camelot, King Arthur's royal city-the ruins of the Roman Empire-style circular venue have been discovered. There is a view that similar circular venues eventually evolved into "round tables" in the post-population.

(viii) Holy Grail

"Then, several wars ended in victory, after commanding several tribes and punishing hundreds of sinners.

"King Arthur doesn't understand human feelings."

The nearby knight said to himself.

Everyone has this anxiety.

When the king is perfect to some extent, everyone will have doubts about his own monarch.

People who have no human feelings cannot govern people.

Several famous knights left Baicheng, and even the king accepted it as a matter of course and part of the rule. 」

—— Excerpt from fate line on day 12.

The knights left the White King City without abandoning the king, and the Holy Grail was by no means the way to save the country that Altoria began to seek before he died. In fact, after King Arthur defeated the Roman Empire and made him king, his interest shifted to the search for sacred objects. What interests him is, of course, all kinds of anecdotes encountered on the way to the European continent.

According to legend, the Holy Grail is a cup carved with jade used by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper. When Jesus was crucified, his disciple Yue Se (Yue Se) used this cup to receive the blood shed by Jesus. But in Arthurian legend, the Holy Grail is all made of gold.

The Holy Grail first appeared in Lancelot-Garonne province, when I went to King Burroughs' territory for dinner. A beautiful girl came to King Burroughs with a golden cup, and everyone immediately knelt down and prayed. For Queen Burroughs, if one day the Holy Grail appeared, the round table was doomed to destruction.

The idea of looking for the Holy Grail came into being at a round table. After a burst of lightning and thunder, a ray of sunshine suddenly flashed, and the Holy Grail appeared and disappeared after a patrol, giving all knights an unprecedented pleasure experience. So all the knights vowed to look for the holy grail. As for the purpose ... it seems to be to get close to that sacred pleasure again. The knights began their journey to find the Holy Grail, either voluntarily or at the behest of the king. In short, more than half of 150 knights of the round table walked away. This is probably what the prophecy said about the destruction of the round table.

The grail appeared in Camelot

Among the knights, three knights finally found the whereabouts of the Holy Grail: the most secular Bors (Bos), the simplest Persivale (parsifal) and the purest galahad (Galahad), but only Galahad can hold it-"just like holding the Eucharist of Christ in his hand". At the moment he held the holy grail, countless shining angels came and took him away. By the way, this galahad is the son of Lancelot Garonne.
