Sun Dianying's former residence is located at No.20, Munan Road, Heping District, Tianjin. The building was built in 1930s, and it is an English building with brick and wood structure. It claimed to be his office in Tianjin, but according to historical records, it was actually his stronghold for selling drugs, arms and counterfeit money in Tianjin. The former residence is in the style of British classical architecture. The appearance of the whole building is patchwork and unique, which is more elegant in private villas.

The main entrance on the second floor is the top of the first floor. The main entrance has four bays, and the alternate parts of the entrance are decorated with rope posts for support. The top of the second floor is a three-story balcony, and the planes of the third and fourth floors are concave inward. The eaves are mostly gray camel-colored clear water walls, and the whole building is magnificent, generous and noble. There is a tall fence around the building, which is a self-contained courtyard with strong privacy. The former residence is now used by Luchang Salt Bureau and listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin.
