What are the more famous Buddhist attractions in Guangzhou?
Guangzhou is the birthplace of the Maritime Silk Road. Buddhism has been circulating in Guangzhou for thousands of years, with strong incense. Liu Rong Temple, Guangxiao Temple, Hualin Temple and Haimin Temple are also called the four Buddhist jungles in Guangzhou.

(1) Liu Rong temple.

Liu Rong Road, located in Guangzhou, is an ancient temple with a long history and a good reputation at home and abroad. Liu Rong Temple was founded in the Qi Dynasty (537), formerly known as Baozhuangyan Temple. The Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties were the period when Buddhism flourished in China. At that time, there appeared an emperor who was the most enthusiastic about Buddhism in history. He is Liang Wudi Xiao Yan of the Southern Dynasties. Under his influence, a large number of temples have been built all over the country. Later, Du Mu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote "Four hundred and eighty halls in the Southern Dynasties, with many towers and misty rain" referring to this historical fact. Liu Rong Temple was built in this atmosphere. In the third year of Fuyuan Northern Series (1 100), Su Dongpo, a great writer, returned to the north from Hainan. When he visited the temple through Guangzhou, he wrote an inscription for the temple at the request of the monks and priests. When he saw the six banyan trees in the temple shaded by green trees, intertwined and imposing, he wrote down the word "six banyan trees" with pleasure, and later generations addressed him as Su. The "Liu Rong" plaque hanging on the lintel in front of Liu Rong Temple Hill was inscribed by Su Dongpo. The pagoda in the temple is towering, with lush trees and rich cultural relics. It, together with Xiaoguang, Hualin and Haiguang Temple, is also called the four jungles of Buddhism in Guangzhou. At the same time, Liu Rong Temple, like the pagoda in the temple, has always been praised by people. In addition, its historical position is the same as that of Guangxiao Temple, and it is known as "filial piety is spread by trees, and pure wisdom is displayed by towers". Jinghui is another name for Liu Rong Temple.

(2) Guangxiao Temple

Located in Xiaoguang Road, Yuexiu District, it is one of the famous ancient buildings in Guangdong. Guangxiao Temple in Guangzhou is the oldest and largest Buddhist temple in Yangcheng. Guangxiao Temple, located in Xiaoguang Road, is one of the four largest jungles in Guangzhou (Xiaoguang, Liu Rong, Hualin and Haizhuang), which was founded more than 700 years ago. Guangxiao Temple, with a magnificent building scale, is the crown of Lingnan jungle. It not only occupies an important position in the history of Buddhism, but also creates a unique style and genre in the architectural history of southern China. Guangxiao Temple has a rigorous architectural structure and magnificent temples, especially many historical sites, such as the Daxiong Hall built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the washbasin spring dug by Dharma in the Southern Dynasty, the pagodas and stone pagodas in the Tang Dynasty, the Thousand-Buddha Pagoda in the Southern Dynasty, the Six Ancestors Hall and the Sleeping Buddha Hall in the Song and Ming Dynasties, as well as inscriptions, Buddha statues, Lanren and Bodhi trees, all of which are precious Buddhism. 196 1 year, Guangxiao Temple was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

(3) Haikuang Temple

Located between Tongfu Middle Road and Nanhua Middle Road in Haizhu District, Xiao Hai Temple is famous for its quiet environment and beautiful gardens. Haikuang Temple covers an area of 1.97 million square meters. Its original site was called "Qian Qiu Temple" in the Southern Han Dynasty, and it was changed to a temple called "Haikuang Temple" in the late Ming Dynasty. In the early Qing Dynasty, the temple was expanded on a large scale and became the crown of the "four jungles" in Guangzhou. 1932 was changed to Henan Park, and 1933 was renamed Haizhuang Park. Haikuang Temple is not only a place to promote Buddhism, but also one of the tourist attractions in Guangzhou. There were eight scenic spots in the temple, namely, "Ancient Temple towering clouds, jathyapple of Pearl River, Quanfei Zhuoshi, Xiaxia Blowing the Sea, Night Rain in Jiangcheng, Shilin, Zhong You in Zhuhai and Xiaochun in Huatian".

(4) Hualin Temple

Located in Laizheng Street, Xiajiu Road West, Liwan District, Guangzhou, it was built in Liang Wudi in 527. Hualin Temple is the cultural exchange place between Dharma, the ancestor of Zen Buddhism in China, and China, and it is the first of the four Buddhist jungles in Guangzhou. Before the Sui Dynasty, this was the shore of the Pearl River. In the seventh year of Liang Wudi in the Southern Dynasty (526), Dharma, a monk from Tianzhu (that is, ancient India), came to China to preach. He landed in Xilai for the first time at the beginning of this year, and built Xilai Temple at the landing site. Later believers revered Dharma as the ancestor of Zen Buddhism in China, so they called it the land where they landed that year. Hualin Temple has a history of more than 1400 years. The Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties were all covered with lanterns. 1963 In March, Guangzhou Municipal People's Committee announced Hualin Temple as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangzhou. Because there is no Hall of Great Heroes in Hualin Temple, the Hall of Five Hundred Arhats has become the main hall. Before the completion of Fatang, it was the only main hall in the temple.
