This film is a sequel to The Silence of the Lambs. Eight years ago, the FBI female detective Starling (played by Jodie Foster in The Silence of the Lambs) went to prison to visit Hannibal (played by Anthony Hopkins), a mysterious high IQ ogre psychopath. Hannibal later escaped from a heavily guarded prison and disappeared for eight years.
No one could have imagined that Hannibal lived a normal life in Italy under an anonymous name. Unexpectedly, a detective revealed his secret, and Hannibal had to go back to his old job and start killing people. Vijai (novel version: Mei Sen Wedge), an extremely rich and only surviving victim persecuted by Hannibal, is also looking for revenge from time to time. And the FBI agent Starling, who is being dismissed for review, is once again involved in this life-and-death struggle. It turned out that Mei Sen, the victim of Hannibal's past torture, did not die. He offered a reward of 3 million times to invite the best in the world to buy Hannibal's head. In order to get rid of the murderer, Hannibal returned to the United States to take revenge on Mei Sen, but he was accidentally captured. Mei Sen intends to eat Hannibal alive with wild boar to alleviate his hatred.
Starling (played by Julianne Moore) arrived in time at the critical moment and risked her life to save Hannibal [1], but she was also seriously injured. Hannibal lured Vijay's housekeeper to feed Vijay to the wild boar. Hannibal escaped from Vijay's house.
When Starling woke up, she saw Hannibal mend the gunshot wound, prepared a special dinner, and invited her to run away with her.
Starling desperately tried to subdue Hannibal. In the struggle, the witty Starling handcuffed Hannibal and herself, trying to buy time for the arrival of the police. Hannibal picked up the kitchen knife and said, "Starling, this may hurt." Hannibal shed tears while waving the kitchen knife.
At the end of the film, Hannibal, who lost his left hand, invited the children to eat "fried brains" on the plane (from the forebrain of the man on the eve of his escape). Hannibal said, "You and my mother always tell us to try different new things." The film ends with Hannibal's voice.
