If you don't apply, it will be regarded as a violation of Burkina Faso regulations and will be severely punished at the destination. According to Decree No.00557 issued by FASO of Burkina Faso on July 1 1, 2006, all goods that pass through Lomé, Cotonou, Tema or Abidjan ports and then are transferred to Burkina Faso must apply for the ECTN electronic cargo tracking form from June 1 1.07, 2006.

Application process of ECTN in Burkina Faso

1. The applicant shall provide the application form, commercial invoice, copy of bill of lading or confirmation or format;

Second, issue a formal quotation after receiving the above materials;

3. The applicant arranges remittance;

Fourth, issue a bill of exchange certificate after receiving the remittance;

5. The applicant confirms the draft;

Original certificate issued by ECTNNO.ORG.

Note: The original ECTN must be issued and take effect five days before the ship arrives at the port of destination, otherwise a fine may be incurred, the goods may be returned and destroyed, and customs clearance may not be possible.
