If the family cannot be contacted, will the hospital rescue the patient?

Legally speaking, the consent form for surgery, anesthesia consent form and power of attorney only need to be signed by the patient himself. However, in practice, hospitals often require the patient himself and his close relatives to be present during the operation. Sign the consent form and anesthesia consent form. The main reason why the hospital does this is to avoid the risks that may be caused by the operation and to prevent the trouble and disputes that unpredictable risks during the operation may bring to the hospital and medical staff.

We should treat the seriously ill first based on the principle of treating illnesses and saving lives.

First of all, many people will struggle with this issue. The fundamental reason is that there is no regulation to protect the rights of medical workers. The current rules and regulations are more in favor of the patient. For example, when a patient is operated on, his or her family members will be asked to sign. If the family members do not agree, the operation cannot be performed. Indeed, this approach not only protects the rights of patients, allowing patients and their families to have the right to choose independently whether to receive treatment, but also protects medical workers to a large extent, because surgical treatment cannot be perfect, and no one can say anything if some accident occurs. Clearly, this letter of guarantee can also be regarded as a talisman for the doctor. But sometimes when accidents occur, it is difficult for patients who are sent to the emergency department to contact their family members. Without the signature of the family members, it is understandable that doctors are afraid to treat the patient with confidence. After all, the doctor-patient relationship is so tense now.

: If the hospital doesn’t have the money, why should the hospital do the rescue?

If an unknown patient without family members is brought to the emergency department, we will do our best to treat and rescue him. Afterwards, the family members will continue to pay the medical expenses.

If the patient is indeed an unknown patient and his family members cannot be found, the green channel procedure will be adopted. First, rescue treatment will be carried out. After approval and confirmation by the health department, the cost will be borne and the medical expenses will be transferred to the hospital.

If the child is abandoned by a family member, the hospital leadership must agree to rescue and treat the child, and the medical expenses shall be recovered from the family member afterwards.

There are indeed patients and their families who cannot afford medical expenses. They usually sign for discharge and bear the consequences.

It is true that there are difficulties. Most of them are probably due to financial reasons, so patients have to be left in the hospital.

This is really inhumane to patients, and it does increase the burden on hospitals and society.
