1. Spring is the germination period of apricot trees, so it is necessary to prune the new buds at the top of branches to promote the germination of side branches. Summer is the growing period of apricot trees, so it is necessary to prune the branches that grow too densely, which can enhance the light transmittance and ventilation of the plants. It is necessary to prune dead branches, weak branches and diseased branches of apricot trees in autumn to promote plant growth and development. In winter, the lateral branches of apricot trees need to be cut short to reduce the consumption of plant nutrients.
2. Fix the stems and buds at the end of May and the beginning of June, select 7- 12 buds with good angles, and smooth the rest. When the new shoots grow to 40 cm, 2-4 key buds are selected for culture, the remaining new shoots are cored to promote the growth of 2 buds, and the buds standing on the back are repeatedly cored and the excessive branches are smoothed.
3. During the full fruit period, trees should be thinned appropriately according to the growth of branches and the spatial situation of each part of the crown, so as to maintain stable fruiting parts and growth potential. Weak main branches, lateral branches, perennial auxiliary branches, fruiting branches and drooping branches retract at strong branches to restore growth momentum.
