About a few months ago, my mother's palm was touched, probably bruised. After she went to the orthopedics department, she was told that there was nothing wrong with her bones. The doctor prescribed internal medicine and external medicine for half a month, and it didn't work at all. Her thumb can't stretch straight, it hurts, and it can't be cured again and again.
More than a month ago, my mother went to the orthopedic clinic of Hangzhong Hospital to find the orthopedic director, and the doctor diagnosed tendinitis. Because my mother has severe symptoms, she can't bend her thumb at all. The doctor's advice is: surgery.
I was so scared that my mother came back and was depressed all the time. My mother said: the doctor said that he didn't know which tendon caused the inflammation, so he could only operate on the palmaris major and the thumb major. If the tendon on the top is ok, I'll cut it to the bottom ~ My mother says it's usually a gesture, but it's a pity that the palm is so big that it needs to be cut very long. That sounds really scary.
Thinking about whether or not to have an operation, my mother suddenly remembered a director of rehabilitation department she met in the inpatient department of the same hospital many years ago.
After I came back from the rehabilitation department that day, my mother obviously relaxed a lot.
The rehabilitation doctor's suggestion is to do physical therapy several times with shock wave (I can't remember the name) to see the effect. If it doesn't work, do minimally invasive, small needle knife. The point is, after more than a month, my mother's hand has no pain symptoms, obviously much more flexible, and there is no wound.
What can a small needle knife do? I don't know why doctors in outpatient clinics use scalpels. Still big mouth?
They are all orthopedics, an inpatient department and an outpatient department. The difference in diagnosis can be so great.
This story tells us that the doctor's diagnosis is not necessarily credible. If you have questions about the doctor's advice, you still have to go to several departments to find different doctors! No matter how serious the doctor tells you and how difficult it is to diagnose and treat, please don't give up on yourself, and believe that there will always be a doctor who is right for you to give you the most suitable solution.
