Vietnam's Nguyen Dynasty palace is magnificent, with lonely maids sitting everywhere
The Nguyen Dynasty was the last dynasty in Vietnam. Like the Nguyen Dynasty emperors and previous Vietnamese emperors, there were many concubines in the harem. However, during the reign of the Fourth Emperor Tu De, due to Tu De's lack of fertility, the concubines in Tu De's harem endured the lonely cold bed every day and served him attentively. Among them, Emperor Tu De's concubine Wu Shixie was more cautious because she was not favored. Even so, the evil concubine Wu was demoted to the throne by the incompetent emperor because of trivial matters. Ordinary concubines. At that time, the concubine was in great pain, but she still served Emperor Tu De with all her heart.

Emperor Tude was born to Emperor Shaozhi and Empress Dowager Fan (later Empress Dowager Cixi) of Yi Tianzhang. He belongs to the concubine. Under the care of Shaozhi and his wife, Emperor Tude grew up carefully, but his health was not ideal. The most serious problem was that Emperor Tude had fertility problems. However, the royal family will never think that there is something wrong with the prince's physical condition. Therefore, when Emperor Tu De was of marriageable age, Queen Yi Tianzhang still took care of her concubines and selected them from the famous girls of the Ruan Dynasty. At that time, the Ruan Dynasty selected nearly a thousand talents for this woman to enter the palace, and the palace determined the suitable candidate for the palace based on their status. At that time, Wu Shixie was selected as the concubine of Emperor Tu De. She was only 15 years old when she married Emperor Tu De.

According to the book "Nguyen Phuc Genealogy", only the five concubines in Emperor Du Duc's harem are clearly recorded in Vietnamese history. The "Nam Phuc Clan Genealogy" records that the Wu family's homophonic original name was the Wu family (after Queen Li Tianying), and she was a native of Lishui County, Quang Binh Prefecture, Quang Binh Province. May 12), the daughter of Wu Chunjin, Minister of Punishment.

Because Oh Si-seop is usually a very gentle person, likes to read history books, and often socializes with literati such as Nam Gwi-moo. It was precisely because of her unique temperament that she was selected into the palace and gained a high position. At this time, she was even more favored by Queen Siti Yitianzhang. The book "Da Nan Zhi Zhuan Volume 2" describes the harmony of the Wu family:

Small and elegant, full of natural flavor, cool and historical, and indoor leisure. ... Hou Zhaizhuang showed his virtue, the Shu God bowed, and the Queen Tianzhang in the east caught Shiyi. She was very kind and loved by the emperor.

After Emperor Tu De ascended the throne and was granted the title of concubine, Wu Shixie received favor. In the third year of Dude (1850), the concubines in the harem were promoted to the second-level concubines. Ten years later, in the thirteenth year of Tude (1860), she was promoted to a pure concubine on the first day of the first lunar month. It took another ten years before he was promoted to the rank of concubine in the Ruan Dynasty. The highest position in the Sixth Court was the imperial concubine. At that time, the Nguyen Dynasty stipulated that women in the harem were not allowed to be queens. The imperial concubine is the highest status. After being destroyed, Queen of the South was formed at that time.

In the first year of Side's reign, the emperor ascended the throne and was granted the title of imperial concubine. In the third year, Shen Ding Gongjie was granted the title of Concubine of Qin in Jin Dynasty.

Due to the emperor's physical problems, Concubine Wu always endured loneliness, like a "prisoner" wearing a crown, but because of her high status and power as the leader of the harem, Concubine Wu always For the sake of 1868, she elevated Nguyen Phuc Yin Zhen, the nephew of Emperor Tu De to be the crown prince.

Things will not be easy. In the thirty-fifth year of Dude (1882), the French army attacked Beihe (part of the Sino-French War). At that time, Emperor Tudu was busy dealing with the court. Something against France.

Emperor Tu De not only had physical defects, but also had no political achievements in his thirty-six years in power. On the contrary, the once glorious southern empire gradually became a French colony. In the first ten years of the Nguyen dynasty's rule, they repeatedly defeated the French army and finally ceded the three richest provinces in the south. The French attack in the mid-term. No changes. It only hoped that the sovereign state of the Qing Dynasty would eventually turn all of southern Vietnam into France. In the colony, during the last ten years of their rule, the French army coveted the fertile Red River Delta in northern Vietnam (known as Bac Ha), resulting in the Nguyen Dynasty's low control of Bac River and eventually petitioning the Qing Dynasty to intervene.

In his later years, Emperor Tu De saw the mountains and rivers broken. However, he often loses his temper with his wife, Concubine Wu Shixie, and Concubine Wu Shixie can only be cautious in everything.

However, as the saying goes, Taoist friends are like tigers, Wu Shixie ultimately failed to escape the unwarranted punishment of the incompetent emperor. Once, Emperor Tu De was accused of having his concubines be thoughtless because of the slow work of the palace staff.

According to "Da Nan Zhuan":

In the thirty-fifth year of (Side), in December of winter, she was demoted to a loyal concubine. Chen Jiwu Yinfan may have eaten liver, and Weihe Emperor Fang Yuyuyao Palace was late for dinner, and was demoted to a loyal concubine for violating discipline. The original grade Guan Shengyi is exempted from the rates of the Sixth Hospital.

Queen Jinbao of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam

Because she suddenly became a loyal concubine, Wu Chongxie was very sad and felt that Emperor Tu De was too cruel. Later, Emperor Tu De also regretted his behavior and considered it unreasonable, so before his death (July 17, 1883), he was named empress. After the death of Emperor Tu De, his adopted son Nguyen Phu Ying succeeded to the throne and became Emperor Ngoc De.

Only five days later, Emperor Tu De, who had little power, was deposed by the powerful Prime Minister Nguyen Van Hiang and his family. The powerful ministers called Emperor Tu De's younger brother Emperor Xiehe, and Wu Shixie had been avoiding the tomb of Emperor Tu De. Emperor Xiehe honored him as his queen, but before the promotion ceremony was held, he deposed Emperor Xiehe. Since then, the power struggle in the Nguyen Dynasty has changed the emperor once a year, and the queen of the previous dynasty, Wu Shixie, was ignored.

After the death of Emperor Tu De, the fourth emperor Xianyi came to the throne and respected Wu as the Queen Mother. At that time, the French could not bear to insult the emperor Xianyi to the royal family. The Queen Mother and the Imperial Concubine (the three are known as the Three Dukes) were taken to Quang Tri Province by court officials. Later, under the pressure of the French, the nobles said that they had released the three palaces, and they returned to Hue Palace through the Qianling Mausoleum.

After returning to the palace, Wu Shixie was honored as the empress dowager by Tongqing, the new puppet emperor supported by the French. From then on, Ngo Harmony was considered the first to enjoy the highest honors, although the Nguyen Dynasty at that time had completely reduced to a puppet court at the mercy of the French.

In the winter of October 1889, the adopted son of Emperor Yude was made Emperor Chengtai by the French and ascended the throne. Wu Shixie was honored as the Queen Mother, and Zhuang Yishun's emblem was filial piety. Thereafter, Wu lived until June 3, 1902, at the age of 75. She was named the Queen of Li Tianfu Shengzhuang Yishun Xiaoqin Shuwen Cixian Mingjingshou. After her death, she was buried next to the tomb of Emperor Tu Deqian and was called Qianqian Shouling.
