Wenzhou is a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province, one of the 14 coastal open cities, a city in the Yangtze River Delta, an economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait, one of the 80 largest cities in China, a provincial-level historical and cultural city in Zhejiang Province, one of the three major economic centers in Zhejiang Province, and an economic and cultural transportation center in southern Zhejiang Province. It is located in the middle of the golden coastline of China, southeast of Zhejiang, east of the East China Sea, south of fuding city, Ningde, Fujian, west of Lishui and north of Taizhou.
