It's the first time for a novice to grow a small tomato. How to trim?
1. Continuous topping According to the characteristics of strong growth potential and axillary buds on both sides of tomato, double-stem and three-stem pruning can be carried out. When the plant is about 80 cm high, pick the growing points to make the plant short, strong and the fruit mature. In order to increase the photosynthetic area of the plant and promote the seed setting rate, when there are 1-2 ears on the side branches of the multi-stem, leave 1-2 leaves at the top to pick the core, so that each tomato pot is umbrella-shaped, fan-shaped or hemispherical, and the ears are evenly distributed on it. In cold winter, when the indoor temperature and light are suitable, potted tomatoes can also bear fruit.

2. Twisting branches, picking leaves and raking pots to increase the bearing capacity of basic branches, improve the fruit setting rate of each pot of tomatoes, make them evenly transparent and promote fruit ripening. The twisting operation should be carried out in sunny afternoon, not in rainy day or sunny morning. Picking leaves is to let the ears sit on the surface of the basin as much as possible, and the old branches with yellow leaves at the base should be removed in time to facilitate ventilation and light transmission and reduce nutrient consumption. Rake is also for modeling, promoting plant growth and fruit expansion, and facilitating fruit coloring under light.

3. Give full play to its infinite growth characteristics. In winter, put potted tomatoes in a closed balcony or room, and hang a plastic rope to pull a branch of potted tomatoes up and climb, making full use of the space to blossom and bear more fruits. Potted a tomato with four vines, with a flower diameter of17cm and a height of12cm. After harvesting the vines, you can change your head and update your branches. If potted tomatoes adopt self-capping varieties, the pit removal process can be omitted and nutrients can be supplied to the fruits more intensively, and the effect will be better. However, using unlimited tomato varieties and changing the head several times can also get good results.
