According to its injury characteristics, it is often divided into closed injury and open injury.

The edge of the wound is neat. If the well-known blood vessels are cut off, the bleeding will be serious; If the facial nerve is cut off, it can cause facial paralysis; If the parotid duct is cut off, it will cause salivary fistula.

Etiological examination

1. Ask if there is any history of trauma and sharp instrument injury.

2. If necessary, oral endoscopy can be used to further confirm the degree of injury. treat cordially

If the incision is not infected, the first stage after suture is expected to heal. When the larger branches of facial nerve or parotid duct are cut off, nerve or duct anastomosis should be performed immediately during debridement as far as possible.

1. According to the injury, treat maxillofacial injury after the whole body is stable.

2. Patients within 48 hours after injury can be sutured in the first stage after debridement; After 48 hours, suture should be delayed and drainage strips should be placed; If the wound is infected, suture should be considered after infection control, and living tissue should be preserved as much as possible during debridement.

3. Try to restore the normal anatomical structure and function of the face.

4. If the wound is connected with the facial sinus, it should be closed as soon as possible during debridement and suture to reduce the chance of infection.

Prevention and prognosis

Avoid trauma, and pay attention when using sharp tools or eating barbed food.
