Collagen implant is a kind of subcutaneous filler. Collagen is implanted under the skin in a non-surgical way to increase the volume of dermal tissue, thus smoothing wrinkles, improving facial defects and shaping perfect skin.
Classification of collagen:
1. Human autologous collagen: This product has no disadvantages such as allergy and disease spread caused by allogenic and heterogeneous collagen, and mainly comes from autologous skin obtained during cosmetic surgery, and is transported to the factory for processing after freezing.
Second, human allogenic collagen: Dermalogen, Cosmoderm, Cosmoplast. Dermatin is different from the skin tissue provided by the tissue bank recognized by the American Association of Tissue Banks. On the other hand, Cosmoderm put high-purity human collagen into physiological saline containing 0.3% lidocaine and phosphate buffer. Cosmoplast is similar in composition to Comsoderm, except that the collagen in it is cross-linked with glutaraldehyde, with higher concentration and longer maintenance time.
Third, animal collagen: mainly bovine collagen, is the earliest non-self-injection filler, represented by ZydermI/II and Zyplast. Zyderm I/ 1I contains 3.5% and 6.5% bovine collagen respectively. Zyplast contains 3.5% cross-linked bovine collagen, which can inhibit the degradation of collagenase to maintain the effect. It is thicker and less immunogenic than Zyderm. This material generally lasts about 6 months. The main adverse reactions can be divided into hypersensitivity and non-hypersensitivity. According to statistics, 3%~5% people will have delayed hypersensitivity to bovine collagen. Therefore, it is necessary to do a skin test before injection, and it is generally recommended to do two skin tests, which can greatly reduce the possibility of allergies caused by treatment.
