Polishing plays an important role in jade design and carving, and it is the last step to realize the design idea continuously. There is a saying in the industry called three-point division of labor and seven-point throwing. Polishing is a sloshing-free process, which is generally divided into six steps: rough polishing, trimming, trimming glossy surface, front brightening and cleaning. Polishing is the last and most important step in processing jadeite. It takes a long time to perform this process manually. First, rough rolling and polishing are carried out. That is, put the carved jadeite into a roller with a grindstone, then add a certain amount of polishing powder (artificial diamond powder) and inject a proper amount of water. It should be noted that the number of grindstones in the drum depends on the number of jadeite put in. The so-called millstone is a kind of material used for grinding. Different jadeites need different types of grindstones. In addition, drum models can be divided into different sizes, and high-grade jadeites are generally put into small drums for independent polishing. Then start trimming the lines. This step requires the use of Shajiao alcohol lamp. Sand is a thin film containing fine diamond particles. First, burn the flaky sand gum with an alcohol lamp until it melts. When the machine stops, apply a small amount of hot melt adhesive to the bearing. Then, stick the handwheel on the transverse shaft of the machine smoothly to make the machine run at a low speed. Heat the amine sticking to the bearing slightly with a thin lamp, then spread the sand glue evenly and smoothly with an iron sheet, and continue to heat the sand glue into a dish with an iron sheet. Then use the flying saucer-shaped sand glue scanning pattern to repair the jade edge. The concave lines in the jade lines should be small and uniform, with a strong sense of curve, and follow the lines carved by jade. In the middle, I have been soaking my hand in the aqueous solution of emery and smearing it on UFO sand glue. After all the lines are finished, learn the grinding steps. This step requires different types of brushes to sweep the large plane (from large to small). Use polishing powder oil to make the large plane of jadeite fully contact with the brush, and make the polishing feel slightly hot to ensure the polishing is fully uniform. (Dip polishing powder oil in the middle and smear it on jade. In the meantime, you should constantly check the smoothness of the smooth surface to prepare for the next step.
Plastic surgery is a delicate step. Make bamboo sticks into various types of sectors, and then dip them in Diamond Brother (room stone grinding paste). Polishing the places where jadeite is not smooth enough, especially the uneven parts on the glossy surface, should be done evenly. Rub the bamboo stick cloth or leather with polishing powder and proper amount of water (cooling) to make the surface shiny. Finally, the whole jade is polished several times with a leather wheel soaked with brightener (also made of other animal fur). It should be noted that all polishing sequences should be carried out from top to bottom and from left to right.
Finally, put the jade into the magnetic cleaner. The cleaning machine needs to be filled with jade cleaning liquid, then washed with tap water, and finally dried with a hair dryer before shipment.
