Three millimeter thick aluminum plates will deform when sandblasted.
We did an experiment because the customer asked for a 0.3MM plate to be sprayed, but it was deformed no matter how we sprayed it. In the end, we changed it to a sandblasting machine, and the deformation was not that severe. But the effect is not as good as the spray.
Method: Place the aluminum plate on a flat plate (used for grinding and scribing by fitters) and tap the raised parts gently and evenly with a mallet. Do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the surface of the aluminum plate, and then In turn, tap the other side several times until it is flat.
Sandblasting is only a method of surface treatment. Leveling still uses the old method of hammering.
