Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital is a comprehensive medical institution integrating clinical, teaching and scientific research, and it is the designated hospital for medical treatment of public health emergencies in Hubei Province and Wuhan City. The hospital was originally a medical treatment center in Wuhan, and it is the only public medical treatment base in Wuhan.

During the epidemic period, all patients admitted to Jinyintan Hospital were diagnosed as pneumonia infected by novel coronavirus. On April 1 1, 2020, the hospital was included in the list of nucleic acid testing institutions in COVID-19.
