303 Hospital Ophthalmology Center is a key discipline jointly established by Guangzhou Military Region and the hospital. It is the ophthalmology teaching base of the Third Military Medical University, Southern Medical University and other universities. It is also a telemedicine technical cooperation unit of Beijing Tongren Ophthalmology, Guangzhou Zhongshan Ophthalmology, Eye, Otolaryngology Hospital affiliated to Fudan University and Huaxi Hospital. It is the designated ophthalmology institution of the basic medical insurance for urban workers and the new rural cooperative medical system in the autonomous region and Nanning. It is one of the earliest professional ophthalmic institutions in China to carry out excimer laser treatment of myopia, corneal transplantation and phacoemulsification.

303 Hospital Ophthalmology Center set up ophthalmology specialty at the beginning of 1952. Under the guidance of several generations of ophthalmologists and scholars' great ideas of exploration, innovation, Excellence and selfless dedication, a key ophthalmology diagnosis and treatment center with strong technical force and integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research has been formed. Now it has more than 2,000 square meters of medical optician center, outpatient treatment area and inpatient ward, and nearly 40 internationally advanced inspection and treatment surgical equipment. Over the years, the business of ophthalmology center has gone hand in hand and made outstanding contributions in clinical treatment, academic research, personnel training and social welfare, thus establishing an authoritative position in the field of ophthalmology, and at the same time gaining many honors and reputation. It has been designated as the National Excimer Laser Clinician Training Base and Nanning Key Ophthalmology Diagnosis and Treatment Center.
