How to bake ladle
Generally, gas baking is used for ladle baking. The total baking time of newly-built ladle is 24 hours, which can be divided into three stages: the first stage is 6 hours: mainly with small fire, without fan. The gas flame can be adjusted to the molten pool of ladle, mainly to dry the water added in various refractory mud and the moisture on the surface of refractory bricks during ladle construction. At this time, if the gas flame is too large, the surface of refractory material is easy to burst. The second stage is 8h: the gas flame can be adjusted to the bottom of the ladle. Don't turn on the fan. The purpose is to heat different parts of the ladle and different refractories as synchronously as possible and dry the water at the bottom of the castable. The third stage is lOh: the gas flame can be adjusted to the bottom of the ladle and return to the slag line. At this time, it is necessary to turn on the fan to dry all the crystal water in various refractories in the ladle, but the baking stage should not be too long. If the time is too long, the surface of refractory may be oxidized and decarburized, which will affect the service life. In order to prolong the service life of refractories in this area, when baking a new ladle, the area is coated with a protective layer or covered with asbestos board, and the flame does not directly contact the surface of refractory bricks during baking.
