What are the characteristics of nectarine pruning in solar greenhouse compared with open field?
Pruning of peach and nectarine in protected cultivation is also obviously different from that in open field. The outstanding feature is to attach importance to and strengthen summer pruning, especially pruning after fruit picking. According to the characteristics of peach and nectarine, such as large growth, strong flowering ability of secondary branches and prolonged growth period of trees in greenhouse, Bellini et al. established and affirmed the special pruning system PCR (crown removal after harvest) for peach and nectarine protected cultivation after nearly 10 years of systematic research, that is, after fruit picking, all the crowns were removed and the regenerated branches were used to form the bearing branches of the next year. The system solves the problem of crown control under the condition of high density cultivation in facilities, which is not only beneficial to high yield in the early stage, but also does not hinder the later management. Beligni and other high-density facilities (9260 plants/hectare) combined with PCR pruning system, the planting reached 43.5 tons/hectare in the second year, and it still grew well after 7 years. At present, this pruning system has been gradually adopted by some countries and is called "Beligni system".
