Freeze-dried specimens in modern specimen making technology need quick-freezing dehumidification equipment, and the production effect in ordinary refrigerator is not ideal. It is best to constantly adjust the posture during the production process.
I don't know what kind of specimen you want to make (different types of animals have different requirements), so I can only outline the basic operation steps:
1) preliminary arrangement: cut off the internal organs of animals and cut off the brain tissue with the smallest and inconspicuous incision as possible;
2) preliminary dehydration with alcohol or formalin, and the concentration of the liquid medicine used should not be too high, so as to avoid the rapid formation of a solidified layer on the skin surface;
3) quick freezing;
4) dehumidification;
5) In the last two processes, the posture of the specimen should be adjusted frequently;
6) Be careful about plastic surgery;
7) Freeze-dried specimens are easy to be eaten by insects, and should be kept in a dark and sealed place, surrounded by insect repellent and antiseptic drugs.
