Research Direction Image Processing Pattern Recognition Yang Jie is currently the director of the Institute of Image Processing and Pattern Recognition of Shanghai Jiaotong University. As the project leader, he has successively undertaken 3 projects of National Natural Science Foundation, 3 projects of National 863 High-tech Plan, 3 subprojects of 973 Plan, 8 international cooperation projects of China, France, Japan and China and South Korea, 5 major projects of Shanghai/KLOC-0, 5 key projects of Shanghai, State Economic and Trade Commission 1 project, Ministry of Education 1 key projects and Seven achievements won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress award in colleges and universities, the second prize of Shanghai scientific and technological progress award, and the first prize of Shanghai excellent invention competition, and authorized four national invention patents/kloc-0. He was selected into the Cross-century Excellent Talents Training Program, Outstanding Young Teachers Funding Program, Key Teachers Program, Shanghai Dawn Program, Dawn Outstanding Scholars and Dawn Tracking Program of the Ministry of Education. He is a member of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" expert group of the Ministry of Information Industry, an expert on technology foresight in Shanghai, a director of the Shanghai System Simulation Society and director of the professional committee of intelligent information processing, a director of the Shanghai Image Graphics Society and director of the professional committee of pattern recognition, a deputy secretary-general of the National Simulator Society, and an editorial board member of five periodicals. He has published 2 monographs abroad and more than 400 papers in academic journals and conferences at home and abroad, including more than 60 papers by SCI and more than 90 papers by EI. The doctoral thesis he directed won the National Excellent Doctoral Thesis 100 in 2008, the Shanghai Excellent Doctoral Thesis in 2009, and the Master Thesis he directed won the Shanghai Excellent Master Thesis. Main research fields and directions: video target detection and recognition, data fusion and data mining, intelligent theory and system application, medical image processing.
